“Geometrically Perfect Beauty”—That’s the sincere compli
ment paid to lovely Maureen O’Hara by Cameraman Leon Sham
roy of "Buffalo Bill,” 20th Century-Fox new Technicolor produc
tion in which Maureen is starred opposite Joel McCrea, who
plays the title role. Shamroy explains that the term is used
because Miss O’Hara has no bad camera angles.

reached our lines."
It was a'similar st»ry for his
outfit in Sicily, Corrado says,
starting with pill boxes on the
beach, knocking out tanks, beat
ing off counterattacks, and fight
ing from town to town. The
Germans, who had slowed up
the Allies with hundreds of
mines and booby traps in Africa,
were now retreating faster, how
ever, so that when Corrado s unit
entered Enna they found large
stores of ammunition which the
Nazis had had no time to blow
up His outfit was on its way
to the coast on the 26th of July,
preparing to attack once more,
when Corrado became a casualty.
East Armistice Day he was op
erated on in the States for a
wounded shoulder At present
he is assigned to the overhead
of D Company.
"Shoot again," prompted the
sad Salinetro, who plans to ask
for overseas assignment again as
soon as he can get it
WHEN YOU GO OVER....
"When you go over,” Corrado
said, "don’t carry too much un
necessary stuff into combat
You'll only have to throw away
the writing paper and envelopes
in the lines. Instead carry stuff
of value like socks and toilet ar
ticles and rations. Don’t under
estimate the Germans—especial
ly the young ones. They're a
cocky, arrogant bunch with
plenty of morale, all hopped up
with propaganda.
"In combat, don't dig your fox
hole too close to anybody else.
Scatter, so that one shell won't
get everybody. Don’t tire on
planes unless you have to—it
gives away }/our position. As
a matter of fact, if it’s possible,
camouflage your foxhole so it
can't be seen from the air.”
"Rack ’em up," said Salinetro
Nazi Academic
Regiment Cut
Up At Anzio
"The proudest regiment in the
German armed forces," in some
respects the nearest Nazi equi
valent to the Academic Regiment
of The Infantry School, was
smashed and cut to pieces at the
Anzio beachhead in mid-Febru
ary, it was recently revealed at
Allied Headquarters at Naples
Officially described as "an elite
collection of technician special
ists”, and called "an infantry
demonstration regiment," its job
was to teach new weapons to
other units of the army. The reg
iment was the controling force
behind the "secret weapon”, the
driverless tanks, which the
Yanks blew up before they
could reach the Allied lines.
“We attacked just as we had
attacked on the parade-ground
at Doeberitzelgrund,” one of the
prisoner-survivors of the outfit
was quoted as saying by the AP,
"but it was different here. It
didn't work.”
