YA .2-I j f-t• T Dear Friend, You almost did not receive this letter. Twice I decided not to send it to you. After you have read it, you will understand why. Ono woman, .Anita Bryant, courageously stood up in Dade County, Florida in 1977 against the effort to force Christian schools to hire homosexuals as teachers. She won that battle. But the homosexuals determined to win the next battle. With fierce and vicious tenacity, they set out to destroy her professional career, her family and her very life. In all my jLi-fe. I had never seen such meanness and cruelty. I stood with her’ -- as did many others -- in the Dade County campaign. But, what a price she has paid for standing up for Christ, the Christian family and traditional values. Little did I know then, that I was the next target of the militant homosexual community in America. Several days ago, I wrote you about the great damage the gays were doing to the Old Time Gospel Hour. I told you that we had a. $1 million note to pay off March 25 -- a debt caused by the gays and other enemies who have abused our toll free counseling lines. But our accountants have just advised me that the half has not been told. They have just completed their investigation. The results of their findings have stunned me. I am almost embarrassed to tell you that we have now uncovered the full story of what great injury the gays have actually inflicted upon this Christian ministry over the past year or more. Listen to the tragic losses we have sustained: (1) Approximately one million "profane and harassment" calls have been made to our toll free counseling lines. Loss to this ministry — about $1.00 per call, totalling $1,000,000. • (2) An estimated 50,000 sets of Bibles and Christian materials ordered by the gays and other opponents of Jerry Falwell (probably burned or otherwise destroyed). Loss to this ministry - about $600,000.
