HORSEMANSHIP
COURSE - Horse lovers,
and beginner riders too, can
sign up now for a horse
manship workshop at Fort
Valley State University’s
Equine Center on campus
from Tuesday - Dec. 4. For
more than a dozen classes,
workshop participants pay
$5 to take two-hour lessons
on Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m.
Participants will be taught
how to guide horses in a clo
verleaf pattern around bar
rels and weave them around
poles. They can also learn
how to ride a horse while it’s
walking or trotting back and
fourth in an arena. Families
are encouraged to take the
two-hour sessions together.
Children as young as 3 years
old can participate. All chil
dren must be accompanied
by an adult. There will be
an informal horse show at
the end of the three months
where participants compete
in timed events that test
lessons they’ve learned.

the night of the election to
be nominated and selected.
