Houston, Tex. The Golden Age for March 1, 1906. The Tabernacle Bible Conference and the Southern Baract and Philathea Assembly, Rev. Len G. Broughton Director, March 8 to 18, 1906, Atlanta, Ga. Atlanta, Ga., March 8-18, 1906. The Eighth Annual March Tabernacle Bible Conference will convene March Sth and close March 18th. These Conferences have become a fixture in the religious life of our whole section of country. Hundreds all over the South look forward to them with great delight. During the past seven years the Conference has brought to Atlanta some of the best Bible teachers and Christian workers to be found in the world. The railroads in the South give special rates, and the boarding houses of the city cut their prices for Conference people. We believe we have the most helpful program for this year that we have ever had. The list of speakers covers a range of experience very helpful in every possible way. Following is a partial list of the speakers: Rev. Samuel Chadwick, Leeds, England; Dr. James M. Gray, successor to Dr. R. A. Torrey, Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, HL; Dr. Arthur T. Pierson, editor The Missionary Review of the World, Brooklyn, N. Y.; Dr. A. C. Dixon, pastor Ruggles Street Baptist Church, Boston, Mass.; Dr. Robert Dick Wilson, professor of Old Testament, Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, N. J.; Mr. W. R. Moody, president Northfield Schools and Summer Conferences for Christian Workers, East Northfield, Mass.; Rev. Melvin Trotter, Rescue Mission worker, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Miss May N. Blodgett, Superintendent Tabernacle Bi ble Training School, formerly of Detroit, Mich.. Dr. H. M. Hamil, super intendent Sunday School Teachers’ Training Department of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South; and President Mont Eagle Training School for Sunday School Workers, Nashville, Tenn.; Mr. Marshall A. Hudson, presi dent Baraca Union of America, Syracuse, N. Y. Charlie Butler, of the Mount Hermon Quartette, now associated with Torrey and Alexander, will be present during the w’hole conference and sing. Rev. Samuel Chadwick, D. D., Leeds, England. For five years the Tabernacle Conference has been trying to get Mr. Chad wick, of Leeds, England. He is without doubt one of the greatest expository preachers in the world. He is a close friend of Dr. G. Campbell Morgan, and of him Dr. Morgan says: “He is the greatest preacher in England.” This is a high recommendation from a high source. This year we made special efforts to obtain Mr. Chadwick. Finally Dr. Morgan was asked to go to see Air. Chadwick and lay before him the great opportunities of the Tabernacle Conference and urge his coming. The effort of Dr. Morgan at last succeeded, and the following cable message from him settles the matter: “Len. Broughton, Atlanta, Ga.—Chadwick coming. Sails February 28. —Morgan.” Dr. Chadwick will arrive in time to speak at the opening of the Confer ence and will remain until the close, speaking every day. It is likely that he will remain in this country a month before returning to England. Special arrangements, therefore, may be made with churches Lor short conferences, ranging from two to four days, with Dr. Chadwick as the speaker. All Baraca and Philathea classes of the Southern States are expected to send, at least, one delegate. The City Union of Baracas and Philatheas is planning to furnish four days’ free entertainment for all Baracas and Phila theas who come bringing credentials. Remember the Baraca and Philathea part of the Conference is from March Sth to 11th. Baracas and Philatheas send their names to Mr. A. L. Richards, 88 Luckie street, Atlanta, Ga. Do this at once. Baraca and Philathea Assembly. This is a new feature, but is to be greatly owned of God, we believe. The first three days of the Conference will be devoted in part to this important line of Sunday School work. Conference people wishing arrangements for board, etc., write Mr E. H. Peacock, Tabernacle Office, Atlanta, Ga. Nuggets From Our Exchanges. IVme often kindles a fire of which drunkenness is the conflagration. The saloon must go if we are to keep our homes, our liberties, our sons. Some people have a sensitive conscience on the subject of other people’s duties. Many a young man might conjugate his ruin thus: Distill, drink, drunk, damned. Uiere is a notion abroad that to become cultured in science will produce skepticism. Now, skepticism towards God and His word is not the product of science, but of the carnal mind. Unbelief is the natural state of the natural man. Natural science can cause neither faith nor unbelief. The glorious things in science can only make the unbelieving “behold and wonder and perish. But they fill the believing soul with a sense of unspeakable delight as he beholds the wonders wrought by his Father’s hand The “Baptist Flag” (Fulton, Ky.)
