FARM
WAGONS
*T'HE wagon that breaks down
■* and has to go to the repair
shop every once in a while is not a
good wagon to buy.
Such a wagon is a poor one because
it is poorly constructed, and because it
is made from poor and improperly sea
soned material. It is dear at any price.
In the building of Weber and Colu
mbus wagons there is always a rigid
observance of these four indispensa
ble requisites:
1. Proper wood materials,
2. Thorough seasoning,
3. Superior ironing,
4. The best of skilled workmanship.
These are the things which have built
up the excellent reputation every
where enjoyed by
Weber and Columbus
Wagons.
The New Bettendorf Wagon
has steel gears which make it a
wagon for any climate, and practi
cally unbreakable.
Strength and durability should be
first considerations when you buy a
wagon. The Weber, Columbus and
New Bettendorf wagons can be relied
upon for long, satisfactory service.
They are built to haul heavy loads
and tostand the rough usage to which
farm wagons are always subjected.
These wagons are in the front rank
of high-grade wagons.
With al It he strength and durability
of these wagons, they are not made
excessively heavy. They are noted
for their 1 ight running qualities.
International local agents will be
glad to show you these superior wag

WILLIE’S DREAM OF PAPA.
Willie (very seriously—Papa, I had
a strange dream this morning.
Papa- -Indeed! What was it?
Willie —I dreamed, papa, that I died
and went to heaven; and when St.
Peter met me at the gate, instead of
showing me the way to the golden
street, as I expected, he took me out
into a large field, and in the middle
of the field there was a ladder reach
ing away up into the sky and way out
of sight. Then St. Peter told me that
heaven was at the top, and that in
order to get there 1 must take the big
piece of chalk he gave me and slowly
climb the ladder, writing on each rung
some sin 1 had committed.”
Papa (laying down his newspaper)
And did you finally reach heaven, my
son ?
%
Willie —No, papa, for just as I was
trying to think of something to write
on the second rung I looked up and
saw you coming down.
Papa—And what was 1 coming down
for?
Willie —That’s what I asked you, and
ami you told me you were coming for
more chalk.

HE HAD LEFT THE CARDS ALL
RIGHT.
The high-born dame was breaking in
a new footman —stupid but honest.
In her brougham, about to make a
round of visits, she found she had. for
gotten her bits of pasteboard. So she
sent the man back with orders to
bring some of her cards that were on
the mantelpiece in her boudoir, and
put them in his pocket.
At different houses, she told the foot
man to hand in one, and sometimes a
couple, until at las't she told James
to leave three at one house.
“Can’t do it, mum.”
“How’s that?”
“I’ve only got two left —the ace of
spades and the seven of clubs!”
WHY THE CONGREGATION TIT
TERED.
The story is told of Helen Hunt,
the famous author of “Ramona,” that
one morning after church service she
found a purse full of money and told
her pastor about it.
“Very well,” he said, “you keep it,
and at the evening service I will an
nounce it,” which he did in this wise:
“This morning there was found in
this church a purse filled with money.
If the owner is present he or she can
go to Helen Hunt for it.”
And the minister wondered why tne
congregation tittered!
*
THEY COULDN’T BEAT THAT.
A minister walking along a road
saw a crowd of boys sitting in a ring
with a small dog in the center.
“What are you doing with that
dog?” he asked.
“Whoever tells the biggest lie, he
wins the dog,” said one of the boys.
“Oh!” said the minister. “I am sur
prised at you boys, for when I was like
you I never told a lie.”
There was a moment’s silence. Tnen
one of the boys said:
“Give the gent the dog, Jim.”
