the standard remedy throßghout the South
during the trying period of teething, colic,
hives, etc., in children. <<
In nine out of ten cases of cholera Infantum that

Or of her experience of sorrow and suf
fering; its rich coloring was from the
crimson fount of the heart--she had
painted the flower of song, she gave
mankind as an inspiration, whence
yearning for God with the distilled
colors of her grief and pain, and as we
inhale the aroma of this sweetheart
flower:
“Then does the way appear
Steps unto heaven.
All that Thou sendest me
In mercy given.
Angels to beckon me—
Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer to Thee."
The late Rev. Dr. C. K. Marshall
made the following beautiful and ap
preciative reference to this popular
hymn:
“What a psalm! What depth of ex
perience! What fitness to the heart
yearning for God! The sun never sets
where it is not heard, and it will be
sung like ‘Old Hundred,’ to the end.
It is the nightingale’s song with the
thorn in her breast. It Is the efflor
escence of an experience of sorrow,
and like the blooming of the century
plant, blooms only once in a century,
but fills the ages with inspiring odors.
"W hat a legacy of a modest sufferer, who
never dreamed of doing a great ser
vice to the militant church! Yet the
whole world is better for her suffering,
having left such a comforter to God’s
people.”
There are moments when we are so
lifted up, so exalted in our feeling, so
closely in contact with things that ap
pertain to the supernal, that the soul
can exclaim exultantly,
“Nearer, my God, to Thee!”
and in this song and the inspiration
it breathes, we can find felicitous ex
pression for that which is best within
us.
Bending in sorrow and tears over
the biers of the dear ones we have
honored and loved through all the
sweet and sacred promises of faith,
we must see the subtle touch and de
sign of God, and that these trying
physical calamities, take us “nearer to
Him.”
Who has not felt in hours of grief
and trial, when some sweet voice rang
out with melody and exquisite pathos
the sweet notes of this song, that
God’s sympathy and love had touched
them and bade them find comfort in
these thrilling and inspiring words?
Words —sublime words —wet with our
tears —“tears from the depth of some
divine despair”—yet fragrant with
God’s love!

88 A FARM wagon has much hard work to do. It must haul heavy loads, travel 81
ZA over rough roads and be out in all kinds of weather. When you buy a
farm wagon you want to get many years' service from it.
You will not be disappointed if you buy any one of the three wagons
described below.
The 63-Year-Old Weber
The King of all farm wagons. Only the very best and most thoroughly sea
soned wood is used; ironed to make a wagon that lasts a lifetime. Light running;,
convenient and a wagon of fine appearance.
The Popular Columbus
Built in a factory where most exacting conditions are enforced. Air seasoned!
wood stock, ironing which gives great strength and durability, workmanship by
thorough mechanics and every part thoroughly tested.
New Bettendorf Steel Gear Wagon
Front and rear gears made of steel. Parts riveted together, not bolted. A
wagon that is proof against breakdowns. Nothing can work loose or rattle, and
there can be no warping, drying apart, shrinking or rotting.
You should remember above everything else that a cheap, poorly constructed
wagon is dear at any price.
Before you buy any wagon call on the International local agents and learn
all the superior points of the Weber, Columbus and New Bettendorf wagons. They
will show you the wagons and hand you printed matter giving all particulars.
Or if you prefer write direct to the home office.
