assuredly I had things He wanted me
to confess. Have written other let
ters, and feel that I must w’rite you
also. Before God had His way in my
life I did different things which con
cerned others, that seemed little, but
were wicked, though I’ve been right
with Him and felt His forgiving grace
and His rich blessings upon me, I
have new light now, and though the
world would say “foolishness,” yet I
do this in penitence unto God.
“When my brother and I roomed with
you and went to school, you had a bas
ket of all kinds of silk and velvet
scraps, which stayed in the small room
where brother slept. I had had very
little of the pretty things of life and
my young heart was tempted; from
this basket I took several scraps; not
all at once, but one occasionally, and
once I thought you had found it out,
and I felt as guilty as if I had stolen
a large amount of money, yet I went
right on and never confessed to you,
then, I could not tell you the truth, yet
in my heart I stole from you, and
among other things to do, this came to
me, “I must tell you so.” Pray for us
and me.
“I stay well, but oh, the need all
around us, and time is so precious!
With love to you, I pray God to bless
you and cause you to bring forth much
fruit.”
Could you do that, dear reader, when
you knew this friend had in no way
been really injured, and that she had
never suspected you in any way? Yet
she must have a clean heart before
God, and she prayed that He show
her what was there and spare her not,
and why? She had been forgiven; she

in my Christian life as when I read
this letter. And I felt that a spirit like
that ought to be given to the vrorld,
that in the great day of reckoning and
rewards for faithful service, our Sa
vior might be glorified, and she might
receive hex* just reward for conse
crated service. Let this lesson go
down deep into your hearts.
YOUR LITTLE MOTHER.
Dear “Little Mother” and Circle:
For a number of weeks I have been
unable to read or write, and can do
very little of eithei’ yet, but I have not
forgotten nor ceased to love the
“Voices of Youth,” and if this letter
does have to be written little at a
time, I am coming just to let you all
know I am thinking of you, and to let
the dear readers know I have enjoyed
and appreciated all of their sweet
thoughtfulness of me.
First, I want to thank that unknown
friend of Asherton, Tex., for that love
ly card with my name and address
beautirully tinseled in gold. I have
enjoyed it so much, and would like to
know your real name.
Nell Callaway, you don’t know how
much your cards and bright messages
have helped me. They have been very
deeply appreciated. Yes, give the
‘“Voices of Youth” a call soon. I am
sure “Little Mother” would give you
a hearty welcome, and w r e would all
enjoy having you with us.
Pearl Thompson, I am very grateful
to you for that beautiful photo card
of yourself and sister. You do not live
so far away, and I hope some day to
know you personally.
Susie Auchmetey, Carlie Peterson,
Willie Galloway and Kitty Nelson,
many thanks for your beautiful cards
and cheering messages. They have
added many bright rays of sunshine
to my narrow life.
I hope I have not left a single one
unmentioned, and if I have, just know
it was not intended, for I feel very
grateful to each and every one that
have brought to me the least bit of
sunshine and helped to turn my clouds
about that I might see the silver lin
ing.
The summer days have passed away,
and the time of harvest is with us,
and it reminds me of the time when
our days on earth are done, and we
are called before the judgment bar to
answer for the deeds done in the body,
whether they be good or bad, and re
ceive our reward. For the faithful,
the tired and true there awaits a rich
reward in that happy land; but the
bad, the wicked, shall be turned away.
The faithful farmer toils day in and
day out to keep down the weeds and
grass from his crop, and in autumn he
gathers in a rich harvest as a reward
for his labor. The lazy and trifling
gather very little, and are often al
most face to face with starvation.
I have been quite a while writing
this letter, and will now have to close,
and come again when I am stronger.
HARLOW MEADOW.
