HAVE YOU THE HEART TO WORK
During this Great Co-operative Contest if You Were Sure of
WINNING A 8350 PIANO?
It is easy to do this and all you have to do is to send in just one subscription each day during the life of the contest. That
sounds easy, doesn’t it, and it is just as easy as it sounds.
Stop and Think About This
Have you ever heard of anything so liberal as this is and yet we are going to do exactly as we advertise; in fact, when we
advertise anything, it is up to us to make good, for Uncle Sam says we must; therefore you are protected in this way:
To the contestant sending in the first five subscriptions to the GOLDEN AGE, we will give absolutely free a scholarship in
the Bagwell Business College, the greatest school of its kind in the South. Here is the long-sought for opportunity; you get
a free scholarship to this great school if you send in the first five subscriptions to this paper; and while this only amounts to
$lO in subscriptions, yet we give you this scholarship valued at fully' ten times this amount. Let us tell you more about this
offer. We make this offer in order to interest you in our contest —the greatest ever inaugurated in the South —and we know
that when once interested, you will continue until you have one of the Pianos or one of the many other valuable prizes that we are
offering. Better write today and ask about the contest for its free and while you have everything to gain, it costs you absolutely noth

The Golden Age for June 2, 1910.
When The Golden Age decided to put on a contest the first thing the
management took into consideration was that a contest where some win
and others have no chance was decidedly unfair to all concerned for it
was practically a game of chance. The Golden Age has decided to run
the contest on a co-operative plan, whereby every one not only has the
same equal chance to win but the more subscriptions you send in the
better prizes you will receive for the efforts you put forth.
There are several prizes to be given to those securing the largest
number of votes in this contest, such as the Baby Grand Piano, and the
other pianos and the organ and the scholarships. These prizes will be
awarded to the schools, etc., securing the largest number of votes in the
contest. For instance, should your school have the largest number of
votes they would receive the Baby Grand Piano, the second highest to re
ceive the second best prize, and so on.
Price of Golden Age and votes allowed.
Price. Votes.
One year subscriptions to Golden Ages 2.00 200
Two year subscriptions to Golden Age 4.00 500
Three year subscriptions to Golden Age 6.00 800
Four year subscriptions to Golden Age 8.00 1,100
Five year subscriptions to Golden Age 10.00 1,500
Ten year subscriptions to Golden Age 20.00 3,500
Ministers’ rate is $1.50 per year but these subscriptions count only in
proportion to the regular rate.
We know that a great many of our friends are wondering how we
can offer such excellent prizes when it is possible that we may not get
enough out of the contest to pay for them. Every magazine of practically
any standing either offers premiums or does something of this kind to in
crease their circulation. The more circulation you have the greater ad
vertising you will carry. Consequently, we want every single subscrip
tion possible.
