MISS MARION RICHARDSOK '“
A South Carolina Steno-Bookkeeper
from Georgia-Alabama Business
College, Macon, Ga., Whose
Salary Soars Considerably
Above SIOO per Month.
The above is the likeness of a South
Carolina young lady, who in one year
after having finished her studies in
the Georgia-Alabama Business College
of Macon, Ga., was drawing a salary of
SIOO pei* month, and who has recently
gone considerably higher than that,
with the assurance from the Company
with which she is w r orking that she’ll
draw as big a salary from that firm as
is necessary to keep her with them.
This is one of a number of young
ladies who have reached and passed
the SIOO mark in the salary list after
receiving the training in that institu
tion.
The public generally will take pride
in reading of the success that trained
business women are making, and it is
the purpose of this paper to publish
occasionally, accounts of such suc
cesses as this, because of the inspira
tion it will give to other readers who
may hope to accomplish big things in
life.
The Georgia-Alabama Business Col
lege has kindly consented to furnish
us with such information about these
successful graduates whenever oppor
tunity occurs for doing good with it.
The following letter was written by
Mr. Henry J. Lamar, Miss Richard
son’s employer, and it was addressed
to Mr. Eugene Anderson, President of
the Georgia-Alabama Business College.
“Since you sent Miss Marion Rich
ardson to me as steno-bookkeeper I
have more than doubled her salary,
thus showing my appreciation of her
knowledge and her good qualities as a
business woman. She has made her
self so nearly indispensable to my
business that I would not be willing to
have her leave me as long as my in
come would justify me in retaining her
services. She has had numerous of
fers of fine positions, but salary is no
object to me as long as I can get
such competent help.”

MAKING A POET.
A garden bright with sunshine,
A glint with flowers and dew;
A maid at play with butterflies,
With not a thought of you.
When falls away her garden wall,
Then brighter still the sunshine,
And more glinting then the dew;
No more she chases butterflies—
Has come a thought of you.
Soon the garden’s bare of sunshine,
And the garden’s bare of dew,
And naught is left the little maid
But poet-soul and thought, of you.
—ALICE I. CALHOUN.

DON’T BREAK THE CHAIN.
I am glad indeed, that you have the
splendid Sunshine worker, Mrs. Rus
sell, of Atlanta, to keep the Household
informed as to the mission and prog
ress of this great organization, which
is spreading over the civilized world.
It is the Christ spirit—a direct, ema
nation from the divine soul of love
and brotherhood. When it has ex
tended over all nations and people
what a grand old world this will be.
Just think, if all of us obeyed only
this one simple injunction of the Sun
shine Society: “When you receive a
kindness, pass it on,” what a change it
would make in our social life. Give
an equivalent of what you receive. For
instance, if your rich neighbor takes
you to drive, let this remind you to
send your poorer neighbor some fruit
or vegetables, or preserves, something
that she would enjoy as you enjoyed
the ride. If you receive a pretty Eas
ter or birthday card, send a card to
some shut-in friend. Don’t break the
chain of good will—add a link every
time. It will be a golden chain to
draw you heavenward.

WOMAN’S BEAUTY
A woman’s beauty is dependent on
her health. To keep her beauty, she
must keep her health. Sickness and
suffering leave their trace, pain leaves
Its marring imprint. Ladies have
come to realize that to be beautiful
and attrac ive they must give atten
tion to physical fitness and health.
Countless women suffer from ail
ments designated generally as “female
complaint,” thinking it is the natural
lot of their sex to suffer.
This is a mistaken belief. Nature
Invariably has a cure for her child
ren’s ills. Thousands of women have
found permanent relief for their suffer
ings by using thu A natural, herbal
medicine, —Wine of Cardui. Cardul
is a pure, non-intoxicating remedy,
specifically for women, which has
grown steadily in favor during the past
fifty years. Letters pour in every day,
expressing the gratitude of the writ
ers, vjo have been relieved of their
misery and restored to health.
When you are nervous or sick, get
Cardui from your druggist, and try it
