Lady Bobcats claim two wins from
The East Georgia State
College Lady Bobcats
Softball Team picked up
two wins Tuesday, Feb.
2 in their home opener
of 2021 against Brewton-
Parker College JV. The
Bobcats won game one
by a score of 4 to 2 and
game two with a score of
13 to 5.
The Bobcats were led
on the mound by Britney
Foster, who struck out
nine batters and allowed
just two runs in seven
innings of work.
At the plate Alaina Lee,
Allana Hooks, Taylor
Morgan and Jana Crews
provided the Bobcats
with run support.
Hooks would knock in
Lee and Morgan in the
sixth inning on a double
off the center field fence
to break a 2 to 2 tie and
give the Bobcats the win
at 4 to 2.
In game two the
Bobcats fell behind 2 to
0 in the first inning, but
came storming back in
the third inning scoring
seven runs.

inning, and the Bobcats
never looked back in
route to a 13 to 5 victory.

the Lady Bobcats who
are now 2 and 0 at home.

ting the victory for us on
the mound. Game two
saw our bats come alive
and post 13 runs which
makes pitching a little
easier. Alaina Lee and
McKenzie Wilkerson
both caught great games
for us behind the plate,
and Madison Bussell
and Payten Strickland
may have pitched their
best games collegiately.
Defensively we made no
mistakes and that was
key in our victories."

On or about March 1st, 2021, the City of Twin City will submit a request to
the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for the release of
Community Development Block Grant under the Title I of the Housing and
Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, to undertake a project
known as City of Twin City FY 2019-Water Improvements improving W.
Short St, Sandridge Rd, Wilson Rd, Coursey Rd, Hattaway St, Hall St, N.
Railroad St, and 1st Ave at a total estimated cost of $750,000.00 in Twin City.
FINDING OF NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT (FONSI)
The City of Twin City City Council has determined that the project will
have no significant impact on the human environment. Therefore, an Envi
ronmental Impact Statement under the National Environmental Policy Act
of 1969 (NEPA) is not required. Additional project information is contained
in the Environmental Review Record (ERR) on file at City of Twin City City
Hall, 112 South Railroad Ave, Twin City, GA 30471 and Heart of Georgia
Altamaha Regional Commission, 5405 Oak St, Eastman, GA 31023 and may
be examined or copied weekdays 8:30a-5:00pm.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Any individual, group, or agency may submit written comments on the ERR
to the Heart of Georgia Altamaha Regional Commission. All comments
received by March 1st, 2021 will be considered by the City of Twin City
City Council prior authorizing a submission of a request of release of funds.
Comments should specify which notice they are addressing.
ENVIROMENTAL CERTIFICATIONS
The City of Twin City certifies to Georgia Department of Natural Resources
that Matt Donaldson as his capacity as mayor of Twin City consents to
accept the jurisdiction of the federal courts if an action is brought to enforce
responsibilities have been satisfied. The Georgia Department of Natural
Resources approval of the certification satisfies
its responsibilities under NEPA and related laws and authorities and allows
the City of Twin City to use program funds.

players have been named
Georgia Collegiate Ath
letic Association (GCAA)
players of the week. Jana
Crews was named Player
of the Week for EGSC's
conference, and Britney
Foster was named Pitch
er of the Week.
This is the first time in
EGSC's history that the
softball program has had
a Player of the Week and
a Pitcher of the Week for
the conference during
the same week.

venture during a virtual
STEM NIGHT on Jan. 21,
co-sponsored by Mag
nolia Midlands Georgia
Youth Science & Technol
ogy Center - Twin City
Elementary. Participating
children let their skill and
imaginations soar as they
worked on experiments
and projects grounded in
science, technology, engi
neering and math (STEM).
The children worked
with supplies generously
donated by community
sponsors to investigate
the dimensions of sound,
shapes, force, measure
ments and problem solv
ing. Their hands-on work
produced models and
prototypes that illustrated
these concepts.
Twin City's Principal,
Robbie Warnock said, "It
was amazing to watch
our students design and
refine their projects. I feel
like I saw a great group of
future scientists and engi
neers!"
Christie Henry, STEAM
teacher at the school,
echoed the enthusiasm,
"Virtual Steam Night was
a wonderful opportunity
for our TCE students! The
excitement on their faces
and watching them engi
neer was so much fun!"

gia. There, students join
with parents, teachers and
community members to
celebrate science through
exhibits, performances,
