Mr. Cecil Lamar Brewer,
Jr., 66, of Fernandina
Beach, FL, passed away
Monday, February 1,
2021. A memorial ser
vice to remember and
celebrate his life will be
held Friday, February 19,
at 3 p.m. in the Burgess
Chapel of Oxley-Heard
Funeral Directors.
Mr. Brewer was born
in Waycross to the late
Cecil L. and Peggy Cox
Brewer. He was raised in
Swainsboro, and was a
graduate of Swainsboro
High School and East
Georgia College. Mr.
Brewer was a longtime
officer with the Florida
Marine Patrol. He orig
inally came to the area
from Key West in 1984.
Shortly after his post
ing in Jacksonville, he
moved his young family
to Fernandina Beach in
1986. Mr. Brewer retired
from the Marine Patrol
in the early 1990's and
worked for several years
with the Florida Park
Service until his last
retirement. In his youth,
he was an avid run
ner and swimmer, and
enjoyed diving whenev
er he could. Always an
outdoorsman, he loved
camping, shooting, and
fishing, especially floun-

was a noted story tell
er who enjoyed regaling
his friends and family
of his many adventures
and experiences. He had
become the Patriarch of
his family and was the
loving father of his three
children, Melani Brewer
(Jay) Akins of Lexington,
SC, Brandon "Bo" Brewer
and Jody Ferrell Brewer,
both of Fernandina
Beach; his grandchildren,
Cole (Sarah) Meeks,
Clay (Shayne) Akins,
Marshall (Samantha)
Meeks, Sydnie Meeks,
and Morgan Meeks; his
great-grandchildren,
Brantley, Harper, Jaxon,
and James; as well his
brother, John Benjamin
Brewer of Swainsboro.

McIntyre, 76
Mrs. Mary McIntyre,
age 76, of Vidalia, passed
away Friday, February 4,
2021, at the Community
Hospice House in Vidalia.
A graveside funeral was
held Saturday, February
6 th , at 12 p.m. in the
North Thompson Baptist
Church Cemetery with
Pastor Jason Davis and
Elder Bill Torrance offi
ciating.
Mrs. McIntyre was
a native of Johnson
County as a child,
moved to the Dellwood
Community in Emanuel
County, and was a 1962
graduate of Swainsboro
High School. She was a
licensed cosmetologist,
and worked many years
with Georgia Ag Chem
and Spivey State Bank
in Swainsboro. Mary
and her husband trav
eled with his career with
Wal-Mart, and ultimately
made Vidalia their home
in 1994. She started with
the City of Vidalia as
Administrative Assistant
to the city manager and
the mayor, and retired
as city clerk. To many
she worked with at the
city, she was affection
ately known as "Queen
Mary". Mary was a
member of the Grace
Community Presbyterian
Church. Mrs. McIntyre
is preceded in death by
a granddaughter, Anna
Leigh Wells; parents,
MCINTYRE
Evelyn and Oscar Price;
three sisters, Arlene Price
Horton, Nelouise Price
Flanders, and Shelby
Jean Price Smith; and one
brother, Verlon Price.
Mrs. McIntyre is sur
vived by her husband,
Marvin McIntyre of
Vidalia; three children,
Michael (Rachel) Wells
and Cassie McIntyre,
both of Swainsboro, and
Bishop (Torrey) McIntyre
of Cadwell; a special
daughter, Toni Corbin; six
grandchildren, Emma,
Lainey, Ethan, Katlyn,
Sydney, and Reese; sev
eral nieces and nephews;
and two special caregiv
ers, Davina Franklin and
Lucenda Chafen.
The family has sug
gested memorial contri
butions be made to Grace
Community Presbyterian
Church, P.O. Box 1848,
Vidalia, GA 30475.

illness. Graveside service
was held Friday, Feb
ruary 5, 2021, at 2 p.m.
at Lane Grove Baptist
Church with Minister

ing. The family received
friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
Thursday, February 4,
at Chapman Funeral
Home. In compliance
with the guidelines set
by the CDC, 6-feet rule
was enforced during vis
itation and service.

Marcus Gadson.
Ms. Boatwright was
born December 22, 1953,
in Swainsboro, to the late
Sam Gadson and Sally
Bradley Gadson. She
entered a welcoming
place where she will
rest in eternal peace. Ms.
Boatwright was a very
kind-hearted person that
didn't mind helping oth
ers. She opened up her
home to others and treat
ed them like her own.
Ms. Boatwright was a
hard-working woman
coming up in age. She
loved being in the kitch
en cooking for family and
friends. Ms. Boatwright
was an extraordinarily
strong and outgoing per
son. She would go for a
walk in the evenings to
exercise her knees. Ms.
Boatwright never went
to bed at night, and she
listened to some of her
old music all night. She

would be up at night and
sleep during the day. Ms.
Boatwright is preceded
in death by her parents;
husband, Fred Willie

rial Chapel on Tuesday,
February 09, at 2 p.m.
with Rev. Dale Wilker
son officiating. Visita
tion was Monday, Febru
ary 08, from 5-7 p.m. at
the funeral home. CDC

masks were encouraged
for the safety and health
and well-being of oth
ers. Interment followed
in the El Bethel Baptist
Church Cemetery in
Twin City.

Born in Ocala, Florida,
Robert was the son of
the late Roy and Willie
Maude Arnold Wilker
son. He was an extreme
ly hard worker, having
"grown up" in the cot
ton fields. Later in life,
he worked with Hodg-
es-Moore Funeral Home
doing whatever needed
to be done. Mr. Wilker
son would work in the
facility, at the cemetery,
and with the service
vehicles. He enjoyed
gardening and he loved
flowers. Robert had a
green thumb and could
grow anything. Mr.
Wilkerson is preceded
in death by his parents;
sister, Catherine Garvin;
and four brothers, Roy
Wilkerson, Jr., Jimmy
Lee Wilkerson, Tommy
Wilkerson, and Bobby
Ray Wilkerson.
Survivors include
daughter, Virginia Steels
of Ellabelle; sons, Earl
Wilkerson of Claxton,
Joe Wilkerson of Met-
