Graveside service was Thursday, Febru ary 18, at 11:30 a.m. at Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Burton Dixon offici ating. Viewing was from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, February 18, at Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church. In compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC, 6-feet rule was enforced during visita tion and service. Ms. Fortner was born June 8, 1935, in Kite, to the late Teonard and Oris Tapley Price. She enjoyed fishing, planting flowers, crocheting, and cooking, as well as walking, look ing at nature, and play ing Farkle. Ms. Fortner is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Jo Wheeler; and brothers, Monroe Price, Hubert Price, and Herman Price. Survivors include her sons, Tynward (There sa) Fortner of Milled- geville and Guy Fort- FORTNER ner of Kite; sister, Joyce Moore of Kite; grand children, Kelly (Robin) Fortner of Swainsboro, Casey (Tiffany) Fortner of Tawrenceville, Amber Fortner of Milledgeville, and Mechele Fortner of Austin, TX; great- grand children, Aubrey Fortner, Piper Fortner, and Bro- die and Jade; caregiver, Tabitha Nations; and sev eral nieces, nephews and many friends. Roy Brantley Frady, 79 Mr. Roy Brantley Frady, 79, of Wrightsville, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness. Graveside ser vice was Sunday, Febru ary 21, 2021, at 4 p.m. at Ivey Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jimmy Allen and Deacon Chris Crawford officiat ing. Mr. Frady was born December 17, 1941 in Wrightsville to the late Thomas Carl Frady and Addie Johnson Frady. Roy was a simple man who led a simple life. He was a devoted hus band and father, and his favorite times were those when he was surround ed by his family, espe cially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Frady spent most of his years behind the steering wheel of a truck and was well respected in the trucking community. He never met a strang er and was always will ing to help someone out whether he knew them FRADY or not. Roy was a bit of a prankster who always enjoyed laughing with family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Frady is pre ceded in death by his par ents; brothers, A.J. Frady and Alvin Horton; and sisters, Loree Price and Sybil Mizell. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Lynn Frady of Wrightsville; sons, Tommy Frady and Jeff Frady, both of Wrightsville; daughters, Rhonda Marshall and Debbie (Kevin) Join er, both of Wrightsville; grandchildren, Lee Mar shall, Keeli Joiner, Kaci Joiner, and Keri Joiner; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Marshall and Emilee Roberson; sever al nieces, nephews, and many friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 18, at 11 a.m. in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Josh Black officiating. The fam ily received friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. CDC social distancing guide lines were observed and masks were encouraged for the safety and health and well-being of others. Mason Shivers, 77, passed away February 13, 2021 in Augusta with her daugh ters, her sister, and her brother by her side. Grave side services were held February 20, at 11 a.m. in the Swainsboro City Cem etery. Mrs. Shivers was born October 15, 1943, as the first child to Cleo and Minnie Mason. She was a dedicated member of Mill Groves Baptist Church in Sardis. Ms. Shivers is preceded in death by five children. Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Lucy Mason Kendrick (Willie), Tracy L. Shivers, and Stacy D. Graveside service was held Saturday, Feb ruary 20, at 2 p.m. at Swainsboro City Cem etery with Pastor BJ Martin presiding and Eulogist Pastor Jeanette Harden. Mrs. Howard was born October 27, 1923, in Bolingbroke, from the union of Henrietta and Augustus Patrick. Because Mrs. Gussie's mother died when she was only 16, she was raised by her maternal aunt Clara and uncle Mark Frazier of Macon, and graduated from Ballard High School in Macon in 1940. After completing high school, Mrs. Howard continued her education at Georgia Baptist College in Macon and Brewton Parker Col lege in Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Howard is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Howard, Sr.; daughter Cherlyn Paulann (Cupie); and HOWARD grandson, David Smith. Surviving family mem bers include six lov ing children, Augustus George Howard of Riv- erdale, Paul Lawrence (Petrine) Howard, Jr. of Atlanta, Mark Patrick Howard of Swainsboro, Dwight David (Sheryl) Howard of Fairburn, Jac queline Ruth Howard of Riverdale, and Mat thew Derrick Howard of Swainsboro; 9 grandchil dren; 18 great-grandchil dren; and a host of niec es, nephews, cousins, friends, and other loved ones.
