The Forest-Blade • ummiEmamielCoimtyLive.com • Swainsboro, Georgia • March 3, 2021 3A Total Wellness Series to begin March 16 The first session of the 2021 Total Wellness Series, Life Insurance: Planting for the Next Generation, is scheduled for Tuesday, March 16, at noon, at the Sudie A. Fulford Community Learning Center on the campus of East Georgia State College. The session is designed to educate participants on several im portant topics while empowering them to make informed decisions for their future. Morrell McCaskill, Statesboro Market President and Wealth Planner with Queensborough National Bank and Trust Company will provide the program. The session is free and is made possible through a partnership with East Georgia Healthcare Center, East Georgia State College, Emanuel Medical Center, Queensborough National Bank and Trust Company, UGA Extension, and CarePartners. There is no cost to participate, and enrollment is limited to 20 people. The session will feature lunch, a presentation, handouts and door prizes. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and face coverings are required. Swainsboro-Emanuel Farmers Market kicks off June 12, 2021 The newly formed Swainsboro-Emanuel Farmers Market (SEFM) is planning to kick off its 1 st annual market season on June 12 The market will run for 20 consecutive Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Farmers Market Pavilion in Downtown Swainsboro located behind the Boneyard. Farmers and Ranchers are encouraged to apply to sell their fresh produce, meat, and dairy products, eggs, plants, and honey. The Arts and Crafts mar ket, which will run every OTHER Saturday from June 19, will host an array of local artisans selling pottery, jewelry, paint ings, and other handmade goods. Farmers Markets are essential for the local com munity. His first purchase was a 1952 Mercury, followed by a 1967 Camaro. In 1987, Brinson partici pated in his first car show in Emanuel County. He won his first trophy in 1990 with his 1967 Camaro in a car show in Waynesboro. He attends car shows throughout Georgia and other states, and has racked up over 1,000 trophies. Brinson also has collections of NASCAR cars and Hot Wheels in hopes of leaving this legacy to his family. EMC now allowing... (From front page) for one hour. The Bobcats fell to the Warriors in both games, with a score of 4 to 1 in the first game and 12 to 4 in the second. The Lady Bobcat Basketball Team traveled to Cuthbert, Ga. on the 24th to take on Andrew College, and headed home with a victory by a score of 66 to 44. The Bobcat Baseball team took on USC Salkehatchie on Wednesday, falling in the first game but bouncing back to win game two 13 to 7. The Lady Bobcat Softball Team was back in action against Wabash Valley College on Wednesday and were defeated in game one 5 to 0 and game two 5 to 2. On Thursday, Bobcat Basketball was in action at home, with the Lady Bobcats taking on Andrew College and winning 68 to 39. The men's basketball team faced off against Southern Crescent Tech and lost 60 to 52. Friday saw the Bobcat Baseball team take on Scoutz USA Sports Performance in a double-header, with the Bobcats winning game one 8 to 4 and game two 6 to 1. They were back in action on Saturday with another double-header against Scoutz USA, winning game one 7 to 2 and falling in game two 9 to six. The Bobcat Basketball team hit the court on Saturday against Central Georgia Tech and fell 64 to 38, while the Lady Bobcats traveled to Andrew College to snag a win with a score of 59 to 44. Sunday saw the Lady Bobcat Softball team take on USC Union on their turf, securing two wins with game one at 12 to 4 and game two at 8 to 4. With these victo ries, the Lady Bobcats are in a tie for first place in the conference! The first week in March will see the Bobcats enjoying more time on the court and field, with the Lady Bobcat Basketball team taking on Central Georgia Tech in Macon yesterday, then facing them again at home on Thursday, then again in Macon on Saturday!. The Bobcat Baseball team will be on the road against USC Salkehatchie on Wednesday, then will take on USC Union on the road on Sunday. The men's basket ball team traveled to Macon to face Central Georgia Tech yesterday, and will take on Andrew College at home on Thursday, then on their home turf on Saturday. The Lady Bobcat Softball Team will face two double-headers against Glen Oaks Commu nity College from Michigan on Sunday, then again on Monday. Go Bobcats!
