Green Thumb
elects new
officers

The Times
February found Green Thumb members learning about
yam and how it goes from animal to finished products.
Bev McCarthy, a newcomer to our area, spent many years
raising goats, sheep, and rabbits for their fiber. She shared
some amusing experiences with her animals, examples of
types of wool and hair, and explained how it was used. She
demonstrated several pieces of equipment used in carding
and spinning her yam and several of her handmade items.
During the business meeting, members nominated Kathy
Gay as VP and Melanie Clark as secretary of the Millen
Garden Club Council and committee memberships were
assigned. Members decided to make the GCG felt eggs
during the March meeting.
