By Joe Brady, Editor for The Times Since trains and Millen go together like peanut butter and jelly. Maybe we should change our attitudes regarding them. I mean since we are staring at them anyway, have you noticed the art work on the side of the cars? What some would consider graffiti can also be considered a work of art. When a reader called the newspaper office to give us the lead about the art work on the side of the train parked in town, I must admit to thinking, “What could possibly be interesting about graffiti on a train?” I was wrong. It just goes to show, anything can be considered art and bring joy, it’s all a matter of perception. In the past few years there has been an uneasy love/hate relationship between our trains and us. They are much needed visitors that have a tendency to hang around for what seems an insur mountable amount of time in one place. But, just maybe with their artistic and creative cars, Millen could be referred to as the cultural center of great art? Naw, who am I kidding? We’d rather have clear paths across the tracks but it sure is nice to stare at something other than the license plate of the car in front of us. (photo by J.
