Tractor Supply
to break ground
in Sylvania

Tractor
Supply
has begun
construction
in Sylvania.
The new
store will
serve as a
one-stop
shop for the
community’s
farmers,
livestock,
and pet
owners, ranchers, hobby farmers, gardeners, homeowners,
tradesmen, and others.
Pet owners can use a convenient pet wash station with
access to professional grade wash bays, grooming tables,
tools and more. Additionally, the store’s Garden Center
will carry top brands including Scotts Miracle-Gro and
Bonnie Plants, and will feature an expanded assortment of
annuals, perennials, shrubs, decorative accent plants, fruit
trees, vegetables, and herbs. The Garden Center will
also offer a full range of lawn and garden supplies
including pots, planters, fertilizer, soil, gardening hand
tools and more.
The new store will be hiring new Team Members
with firsthand experience in the Out Here Lifestyle and
legendary customer service. Anyone interested in applying

The store will be located in the Food Lion Shopping
Center, in the fomier Goody’s building at 1129 W.
Ogeechee Street.

Peyton plans to attend EGSC and major in Genetics. Peyton conducted all
her research for the project on the JCHS campus, (photo by C. Bennett)
an agriculture-based scientific experiment and report
the results. Peyton was named the Central Region Star in
Agriscience for her work over the past 3 years researching
the influence of biochar on the germination rate of bell
peppers. Peyton conducted her research entirely on campus
utilizing the Jenkins County High School Agricultural
Education Greenhouse.
Other requirements to achieve the award include
demonstrating top management skills; completing
key agricultural education, scholastic and leadership
requirements; and earning a Georgia State FFA Degree,
the Georgia FFA Association’s highest level of student
accomplishment. A panel of judges will interview the
finalists from the North, Central and South region and select
one winner from each award category for the Georgia FFA
Convention in April. The Georgia State Star in Agriscience
will be announced at the Georgia FFA Convention. The
STAR in Agriscience Award is sponsored on the state level
by the Georgia Peanut Commission.
Peyton is the daughter of Joey and Dawn Merier of Millen
and will be attending East Georgia State College in the fall,
majoring in Genetics.

This is an easy treat that is good served
hot, warm and even cold. Everyone will
think you slaved hours to make it and
don’t tell them it was easy.
Pimento cheese bacon wraps
1 lb sliced bacon
1 1/2 lb pimento cheese, any brand
White sliced bread
Parmesan cheese, small block
8 oz cream cheese
Mix the cream cheese into the pimento cheese. Trim cmst
from bread.
Make pimento cheese sandwiches. Grate parmesan cheese
onto pimento cheese, then place bread together to make
sandwich. Slice into 3 equal portions. Wrap each with
bacon, about a Vi slice. Place onto a baking sheet. Preheat
oven to 325 degrees. Bake until bacon is cooked. This can
be served straight from oven or cooled.
Everyone will rave about your pimento cheese sandwiches.

Place on baking sheet. Bake in
oven at 325 degrees until bacon is
cooked.
Serve warm or cold. A delightful
treat for any party or social.
