Aged to Perfection
at the Jenkins County Senior Citizen Center

The Times
Boy we really like green! St. Patrick’s Day was
another reason to have a party.
We arrived at the Center Friday morning finding
everything green! Green streamers were hanging
from the ceiling, green St. Patrick’s Day ornaments
made by the seniors were hanging from indoor trees,
green beads were everywhere and there was even a
giant rainbow with a pot of gold at the bottom of it.
Shop owners beware if anyone comes shopping with
gold coins this week! There was a few missing from
the pot. Of course there has to be food involved.
We enjoyed homemade green cookies to go along
with our green sherbet punch.
The seniors went all out with their St. Patrick’s Day
attire as they arrived that morning. We had every
thing from green shoes and leprechaun socks all the
way to the top with green hats and bows. It was a
fun morning trying to guess who all had a gold coin
hidden on them in order to win a prize. The seniors
also chose through secret voting as to who dressed
the most festive for St. Patrick’s Day and Hazel Ban
ner and James Thompson got the most votes. That
got them strutting even more!
We always love to end our day with a song from
Mrs. Elnora Taylor. She can get our feet tapping
and our hands clapping. Stop by for a cup of coffee
sometime and see the fun we have.. .even when it’s
not a party day!
