READING HAS BEGUN

We’re halfway through
May, and that means
we’re only two weeks
from the beginning of our
2023 Summer Reading
Program! This year’s
theme is “All Together
Now.” The kickoff event
for this year’s Summer
Reading Program will
be on Tuesday, June 6 at
2 pm, and will feature a
new performer, magician
Brian Robert! You’ll
be confounded by his
masterful tricks and clever
jokes.
To participate in the
reading portion of the
Summer Reading Program,
you and your child/teen
have two options: you
can use the Beanstack
app available on Google
Play & the App store, or
you can use the traditional
paper logs. We suggest
Beanstack, as it’s much
easier to simply put it in
the app on your phone than
try to keep track of things
on a paper log that you
might misplace!
For children under 5, all
they need to do to earn a
prize is to do five activities
like reading bedtime
stories, singing songs like
“Pop Goes the Weasel”,
etc. For children and
teens, they only need to
read for five hours to earn
a prize and get a chance to
enter the weekly drawing,
and it doesn’t have to
be all at once. And yes.
adults can join in on the
fun too - every book that
you read gets you an entry
into the weekly drawing!
Also, don’t forget that
anyone who comes to
one of our programs is
eligible to enter the weekly
drawing as well!
