Dear Class of 2023,
Behind you,
all your memories.
Before you,
all your dreams.
Around you,
all who love you.
Within you,
all you need.
Marisol Guzman-Rangel is the 2023 Valedictorian for
Jenkins County High School. Her parents are Enrique
Guzman and Elizabeth Rangel. She is a very active
member of the Jenkins County FFA group. She plans
to attend Georgia College & State University to obtain
a bachelor's degree in biology. Afterwards, it would
be a dream come true if she is able to work within the
forensic field.
Valedictorian:
Salutatorian:
Marisol
Guzman-Rangel
Jackson
Lanier
Jackson Lanier is the Salutatorian for Jenkins County
High School. His parents are Ginger and Ernest Lanier.
He played baseball for four years of high school and
football his senior year. After graduating high school,
he plans to attend Georgia Southern University. He
will major in exercise science to one day become an
athletic trainer.
To quote Stephen R. Covey, who (as you all should know by now) is one of my favorites,
“The best way to predict your future is to create it.” You are now in charge of living your most
meaningful adult life! Living a meaningful life isn’t about doing things as quickly as possible,
but to identify the things that will have a long-lasting, positive impact on your happiness. The
best gift that you can give to the ones who have cared for you up until this point is to live a
happy, beautiful life.
I wish you all joy. I wish joy in whatever path you choose. I know some of you will go to
college, some of you will start or continue a job, and some of you may join the military, but
whatever you do, find joy! Make your life decisions based on what you
have been taught - smart, productive decisions. All of us in the Jenkins
County Schools are watching and cheering for you as you go out into the
world and find your meaningful life!
I think that each and every one of you has the capacity and skills to make
our world a better place. My advice to you is to work hard, be kind, and
dream big. I am so proud of you all. Congratulations to the JCSS Class
of2023!
Your Superintendent,
Mrs. Cooper
