Local artist
displays at library

Summer has started off with a bang - and
we’re not just talking about our Summer
Reading Program when we say that! Local
artist LeeAnn Collier is exhibiting her artwork
in the multipurpose room throughout June,
and it’s beautiful. Come in and see what this
amazing artist has created. Thank you to the
Millen Garden Club for arranging this exhibit
in honor of National Garden Week, June 4-June
10. While you’re here, check out the beautiful
flower arrangements that the Millen Garden
Club has also provided!
Going back to our Summer Reading Program,
it is still rolling along, with Oatland Island
Wildlife Center next up on our list of performers!
They will be coming to the library on Tuesday,
June 13 at 2 pm. You will have a blast seeing
the amazing Georgia wildlife that they bring to
the library for you to meet.
The library will be closed on Monday, June
19 for Juneteenth.
On Tuesday, June 20 at 2 pm our friends from
the Jenkins County Farm Bureau will be coming
to share wonderful stories and do fun activities.
Come in and get to know them!
Planning on a fun trip to one of Georgia’s
many state parks? Don’t forget to stop in at the
library before you go, and pick up the Family
Park Pass! You’ll be able to come and go from
as many state
parks as you
please, free
of charge!
If you’re
looking for

fun to do
that lets you
escape the
summer heat,
we can help
you with that as well. Our Craft To Go kits are
available all year round, and we’ve got some
special ones planned for summer!
Having trouble keeping track of how long
your kids have been reading? There’s an app for
that! The Beanstack app, available on Google
Play or in the App store, can keep track of how
long you’ve been reading, as well as allow you
to earn badges and physical prizes. Just head to
sjrls.beanstack.org and never worry about your
child losing their paper reading log again.
