The five victims told investigators that they were accosted by a white male, later identified as Patrick Casey of Jenkins County. The victims described the suspect holding them at gunpoint and attempting to get the victims to perform sexual acts on one another. One of the victims disarmed the suspect and all five victims fled the scene where they managed to call 911 from a safe place. Casey was arrested without incident and transported to the Jenkins County Jail. Casey faces the following charges: Aggravated Assault - 5 counts Kidnapping - 5 counts Terroristic Threats - 5 counts Aggravated Sodomy - 5 counts Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime - 1 count in Perkins incident Patrick Casey Emery Stewart, Jenkins County native, recently competed in the 84th Annual Miss Georgia Forestry Scholarship Pageant as the reigning Baby Miss Bulloch County Forestry Queen 2023. Emery is the daughter of Kevin and Amber Stewart. Stewart holds two Baby Miss Georgia Forestry titles, including. Baby Miss Bulloch County Forestry Queen 2023 and Baby Miss Pine Tree Festival Queen 2023. The pageant was held in Tifton, Georgia. County queen winners throughout Georgia were invited to compete in the State Scholarship Pageant, which included beauty and on-stage personality. The Forestry Pageant is the oldest mnning scholarship pageant in Georgia and a large provider of college scholarships. The pageant is a competition celebrating the State of Georgia, its forestry industry, and the people who protect and promote it. Stewart earned a spot in the upcoming Baby Miss U.S. National Forestry Pageant on September 9th and 1 Oth, in Tifton. The State Pageant was directed by Dianne Dominy. Perkins residents enjoy live entertainment Emery Stewart crowned Baby Miss Georgia Turpentine Queen 2023 Special to The Times By Joe Brady, Editor for The Times The town of Perkins held their live music show on June 24 at the train depot. The group was entertained by The Palmetto Cadillacs from 6 - 9:30 p.m. Food trucks were set up and the band raffled off a signed guitar. “Thanks to George Gunn, Jr. for graciously donating the venue,” Jody Woods said. Performers from Aiken and Edgefield County played during intermission. “Thanks to Frank Novatney, Everett Holbrook and Jessica Wood.” Jody continued.
