Photo Contest

The
picturesque
landscapes of
peanut farms
across the
state are set
to take center
stage as the
Georgia Peanut
Commission
( G P C )
announces its
eagerly anticipated 2024
calendar photo contest.
With a call for submissions
open until October 1, 2023,
Georgia famiers are invited
to showcase their best high-
resolution photographs,
capturing the essence
of the peanut growing
season. Selected images
will grace the pages of the
upcoming 2024 Georgia
Peanut Calendar, as well as
being featured in various
promotional initiatives by
the GPC throughout the
year.
As the contest seeks to
capture the essence of the
state's vital peanut industry,
farmers are encouraged to
consider several guidelines
when selecting their photo
entries. While creativity is
encouraged, entrants are
asked to avoid offensive
imagery and photos
prominently displaying
large corporate logos.
The GPC is particularly
interested in photos that
convey the different
stages of the farming year,
reflecting the distinct
characteristics of each
month. From winter land
preparation to spring
planting, summer irrigation,
and autumn harvest, the
calendar aims to paint a
comprehensive picture of
the peanut farming cycle.
To ensure a visually
cohesive calendar,
submitted photos must
be in horizontal format,
capable of filling an entire
calendarpage. Furthermore,
the GPC encourages
farmers to incorporate
their families into the
images, showcasing the
multi-generational
dedication that defines
Georgia peanut farming.
By sharing personal stories
and insights, entrants can
provide viewers with a
deeper understanding of
the passion and care that go
into cultivating the beloved
crop.
To maintain the highest
quality of imagery, the
contest requires that all
photo entries be taken
during the 2021, 2022, or
2023 peanut crop years,
and should exclusively
focus on peanut production.
Entrants are also reminded
that only high-resolution
photos (300 dpi) taken
without the use of a
phone will be eligible
for consideration. The
submission process
involves sending entries in
.jpg format via the online
entry form available at
www.gapeanuts.com by
the designated deadline of
October 1, 2023.
Those who capture the
essence of Georgia's peanut
farming tradition and earn
a place in the calendar will
not only contribute to the
promotion of the state's
agricultural heritage but
will also have a chance to
win a Visa gift card as part
of the recognition for their
outstanding work.
For detailed information
and contest guidelines,
interested individuals are
encouraged to visit the
official Georgia Peanut
Commission website at
www.gapeanuts.com. As
the deadline approaches,
the GPC looks forward to
receiving a diverse array
of captivating images
that celebrate the spirit of
Georgia's peanut famiers
and the role they play in
shaping the state's vibrant
agricultural landscape.
