This time they played three full games, and they completed a game that was shortened by rain from earlier in the season. On Monday, the Lady War Eagles hosted Jefferson County. They pulled out the 9-1 win in dominating fashion. The Lady War Eagles scored 1 in the second and added 4 more in the third, two in the fourth, and 2 in the sixth. Katie Bell pitched all 6 innings for the War Eagles. Allowing only 2 hits and 1 run with 2 strikeouts. Mia Abraham was 2 for 2 on the game, and Jahkalia Oglesby had 3 RBIs. On Wednesday, Bryan County traveled to Jenkins County. They had to complete a game that started on August 8 th that was shortened by the rain. That game ended with a Bryan County win 8-6. In the second game of the afternoon, the Lady War Eagles would lose a close 8-5 matchup. The War Eagles would score four in the 6 th bringing the game to a 6-5 game in favor of the Redskins, but the Redskins followed up with a 2-run 7 th and finished with an 8-5 win for the Redskins. Shanya Lake and Ava Brantley were both 2 for 3 in the game offensively. Thursday, in the final game of the week, the Lady War Eagles traveled to play David Emmanuel Academy. The Lady War Eagles held off DEA in the 7 th when they cut the game to a one-run game by scoring three in the final frame. The surge by DEA was on an RBI double and a two-run home run in the bottom of the 7 th . Bell, who was on the mound, recorded a strikeout with the tying run on 1 st. The two wins brought the Lady War Eagles to a 6-3 record as regional play begins this week! From the coin flip to the final horn that sounded, this game was filled with excitement, hard hits, and big plays. In the end, the War Eagles came out on top 28-26. Photo Submitted.
