Regional Play Begins Friday Night
The War Eagles have
completed their first six
games of the season and
they are off to the best start
in school history. The War
Eagles, presently ranked
7 th in the Composite
Ratings, will look to take
their undefeated record
into regional play with
one goal in mind; win the
region. They will kick
off regional play against
McIntosh County Academy
on Friday night.
Since the first day of the
season, the expectations
were high for this veteran
War Eagle team. The
team is anchored by 13
seniors and 16 juniors,
making this squad a heavy
upperclassman team. The
first half of the season has
seen the War Eagles have
wins over Johnson County,
Treutlen, East Laurens,
Cross Creek, Screven
County, and Claxton.
Thus far this season, the
War Eagles have managed
to outscore their opponents
245-87, this is an average
of 41 points per game
while only allowing 15
points per game. This
dominance on both sides
of the ball has made for an
exciting football season.
The War Eagles have
shown multiple mshing
attacks and they will mix in
a passing play just to keep
defenders on their toes.
On defense, the War
Eagles have forced
numerous turnovers,
including four on four
consecutive drives against
rival Screven County.
The War Eagles will play
the 3-3 McIntosh County
Academy on Friday night,
they will then travel to
Montgomery County
(10/20), a final home game
against ECI (10/27), and
will finish the season at
Portal (11/3). While the
season has been exciting
the coaches, players, and
fans know that these final
four games will detemiine
their postseason play. The
four games that matter
the most are the regional
games. All teams in GHSA
will begin their regional
schedules this week. These
last four games are sure to
be entertaining leading us
to playoffs!

Week 6
Pigskin Pick’em
32” TV in Prize Package
The season is flying by. Teams are starting to secure their position in the standings. The Georgia
Bulldogs have played 6 games, which leaves only 7 games to play! Truly, the season is nearly
halfway to completion. My eyes will be on Kentucky vs. Georgia this week! Please note that the
tiebreaker this week is totally different.
The Week 5 winner of the Pigskin Pick’em was Ken Delay! There were several who guessed the
picks 100% correctly. Yet, Ken guessed the exact number of points between Kentucky and
Florida. Thanks everyone for your submissons!
The Week 5 Tiebreaker is: Guess the TOTAL # of rushing yards Kentucky will finish with

Email your predictions to pastorbradasbnrv@gmail.com, or look on the Jenkins County
Times Facebook page or Brad Asbury’s Facebook page and make your guesses when you
see the ‘‘Pigskin Pick’em page. Selections must be received by 11:00 AM on Saturday
morning.
Remember, the winner is the person who guesses the correct number
of games each week. The “tie-break challenge” will be used if there
is a tie. The winner from each week will then be entered into a
drawing at the end of “Pigskin Pick’em” which will be the week of
Novembe 28-December 4. For clarification, if you win the weekly
challenge 5 times, you will have 5 entries into the drawing. The
prize package is to be announced! You do not want to miss out!
