PASSPORT
Continued from page 1
In a remarkable effort
to enhance convenience
for its citizens, the Clerk
of Court's office will soon
be resuming its passport
services, all thanks to
the determined efforts
of Mayor King Rocker.
The return of passport
services will undoubtedly
streamline the process for
residents, and it wouldn't
have been possible without
Mayor Rocker's proactive
involvement.
Mayor Rocker revealed
his contribution, saying, "I
had some contacts from
my father-in-law's days
and used them." His
connections played a
pivotal role in expediting
the revival of this essential
service, benefiting the
community he serves.
Senator Rick Allen's
liaison, Brinsley Thigpen,
who happens to be a
family friend of Mayor
Rocker's, played a crucial
role in facilitating the
process. This collaboration
highlights the power
of partnerships in local
governance and how
personal relationships can
help make positive changes
for a community.
While Mayor Rocker
and his associates worked
diligently to make this
initiative a reality. Clerk
Tracey Herrington
elaborated on the timeline
for implementing the
passport services. "It will
be approximately 2-3
weeks before we are fully
capable of helping citizens
with their passports," Clerk
Herrington explained,
acknowledging that there
are still some procedural
steps to finalize. Citizens
looking to acquire
passports should be aware
that they will still need
to obtain passport photos
from a designated source.
Clerk Herrington
expressed her gratitude
to Mayor Rocker and his
office for their unwavering
support, emphasizing
the importance of their
involvement. "We couldn't
have offered this service
so expeditiously had it not
been for Mayor Rocker."
One of the challenges
in reinstating passport
services at the Clerk of
Court's office was the
need for extensive online
training to ensure that staff
members were certified
to perform these tasks.
Typically, this certification

Chicken Serial
Killer Captured
On Wednesday, October 25, while I was delivering
papers, I went to Hiltonia to find a little something to aid in
easing a cough when I met the captured serial killer. This
young bobcat had wreaked havoc on chicken owners as he
had killed over 100 of the tasty fowl.
When questioned the bobcat (unable to tell the sex as it
had its tail tucked the entire time) just growled and hissed
and became a little agitated when anyone approached.
It seems that he was taking off the heads and one leg so
the chickens could not identify him or even attempt to run
after him with their heads cut off.
Thankfully, the kind gentlemen who captured him, was
exiling the killer to the untamed wilds of Hiltonia Perkins
Road in a 100-acre wooded lot to enjoy the rest of his life.
This cat lover sure wanted to pet him but alas, I need my
fingers and hands to continue in life.
These animals are very dangerous not just to chickens
but to humans as well. Photo of young bobcat captured in
