War Eagles
Cross Country
at State
The GHSA’s State Cross Country Championships
witnessed an impressive display of athleticism by the War
Eagles Cross Country team on November 3rd. Led by senior
Ben Tyler, the Boys who finished 44th out of 170 runners in
the 1A Division II Championship, with each of the other six
JCHS Boys finishing with times under 23 minutes. Notably,
James Allen, J C Dailey, Noah Griffith, and Hasan Grimes
set personal records at State. Rashad Allen and A’Mahn
Sullivan rounded out the Boys team that finished 15th out
of 26 teams, beating out all three Region opponents ECI,
Montgomery County, and Portal.
Meanwhile, the Girls team was led by Senior Nevaeh
Campbell, who finished an impressive 40th out of 109
runners, with a time of27:52.17. Autumn Dailey and Jaylee
Bennett both set personal records at State, while Griselda
Mora Mendoza, Kady Richardson, and Maddy Shanklin
rounded out the team, which finished Nth out of the 16
teams in the 1A Division II Championship.
The War Eagles team's success is a testament to
the hard work and dedication of the athletes and coaches.
The team expressed their gratitude for the support and
encouragement they received from the administration,
teachers, students, and the community, and were proud to
represent them at the State Championship.

Pigskin Pick’em

Last week, the Sports Editor messed everything up with Pigskin Pick’em. Typically, I would be
disappointed with only three people participating; however, I messed it up so bad that I am very
glad it was low participation. Now, this one is going to be correct, and we need everyone
participating as the weeks roll by!

it will be a challenge.

see the “Pigskin Pick’em page. Selections must be received by 11:00 AM on Saturday
morning.
Remember, the winner is the person who guesses the correct number
of games each week. The “tie-break challenge” will be used if there
is a tie. The winner from each week will then be entered into a
drawing at the end of “Pigskin Pick’em” which will be the week of
Novembe 28-December 4. For clarification, if you win the weekly
challenge 5 times, you will have 5 entries into the drawing. The
prize package is to be announced! You do not want to miss out!
