Hinesville man arrested for sexual
exploitation of children
Winford Griffin, 37, of Liberty County has been
arrested on ten counts of sexual exploitation
of children. The GBI Child Exploitation and
Computer Crimes Unit investigated Griffin’s
online activity as part of Operation Sneaky
Peach, a statewide, multi-jurisdictional
operation. The investigation targeted t hose
who was involved in the possession of and
trading of child sexual abuse material.
Augusta man indicted for bomb
scare at Social Security Office
Keyon Tishaye Dickens, 38, of Augusta is
currently being held in the Jefferson County
Detention Center after being indicted for using
a telephone to make a threat to injure a person
or damage a building by explosives and 2
counts of false infomiation and bomb hoax. The indictment alleges that Dickens called the
Social Security Administration Office on Oct. 10, threatening to use an explosive device to
harm the building and workers. Later, at the office, he displayed a note that read, “I have
a bomb”.
The building was locked down and evacuated, no bomb was found.
New York man sentenced to federal prison for sexual enticement of a
minor
Jordan Harris, 25, of Queens, NY has been sentenced to 127 months in prison after pleading
guilty to coercion and enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity. A Savannah
woman approached the Garden City Police Dept, in December 2021 for help in locating her
missing minor daughter. A few days later, the daughter was found in New York.
Interviews with the victim revealed Harris had used online messaging applications to
communicate with the minor for nearly a year before persuading her to leave with him via
Greyhound to travel to New York.Harris was arrested in November 2022 when he again
traveled to Savannah to contact the minor.

Second of four men who escaped from central Georgia jail has been
caught
The second of four men who escaped from a central Georgia jail last month has been
captured. Marc Kerry Anderson, 25, was arrested Friday at an apartment complex in Atlanta.
Last month, Anderson, Joey Fournier, 52, Chavis Demaryo Stokes, 29, and Johnifer
Demard Barnwell, 37, escaped through a window and cut a fence at the jail on Oct. 16th
Tymesha Timely was booked into the Bibb County Jail Friday, for aiding in the escape.
Video footage from the day of the escape shows someone tampering with the fence and
then the four prisoners escaping in a blue Dodge Challenger.
GBI investigates shooting in Cartersville
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating a shooting in Cartersville involving
the city’s police department on Thursday. It happened around 9:20 p.m. at a home on Anne
Circle where officers were called to a domestic dispute.
Christopher Milteer, 24, started shooting at officers from the doorway of the home as they
arrived on scene. An officer returned fire and Milteer was taken to a local hospital in
critical condition.
Attorney convicted in Jan. 6 role won’t be allowed to practice law in
Georgia
William McCall Calhoun, a Georgia attorney who was convicted and sentenced to 18
months in prison for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021 storming of the capital will not be allowed
to practice law in Georgia for the immediate future.
The Georgia Supreme Court ruled Tuesday, suspending Calhoun based on the charges he
was convicted on: obstruction of an official proceeding; restricted building or grounds;
violent entry or disorderly conduct.
Statesboro getting thousands of new homes
Statesboro residents will see new neighbors, 4000 of them to be exact. The city has received
applications for 4,000 new housing units in the next few years. This means new construction
in the form of single-family, townhomes, apartments, and student housing. Council says
it’s coming due to the Hyndai plant. Bulloch County wants to attract more families and
with that in mind will develop amenities such as dog parks, pools, and playgrounds.
