Lord, I am thankful for
everything you bless me
with
By Diane Wasden,

The Times
I have something to tell you.
And I hope you listen close.
This thing is very important.
And to me it matters most!
You made us all so different Lord.. .no two of us are alike.
Except for our names Lord like Nicholas, James and Mike.
You made us in your image so we all must live up to it.
Sometimes we may sideline but we must never ever quit!
In John 6:36 Jesus said to them “I am the bread of life he
who comes to me shall not
Hunger and he who believes in me shall never thirst “.
Oh bread of life could you please feed me.
Please can you feed my very hungry soul?
You alone Lord are the only one whom can do this,
I know you have the power and I believe and trust you so.
Bread of life I so badly need you,
I just cannot walk this life alone.
Life for me Lord is such a struggle.
When I struggle with this life on my own.
Please bread of life forgive me.
For sins I have sinned each day.
Please help and guide me Lord,
To proudly walk in your will and way!
I thank Thee for each morning Lord,
And thankful for each and every day.
At eve I’ll still be grateful Lord,
Even if things just don’t go my way.
I know Lord you have a very big plan for me,
And I trust you that it will work out just as you have
planned.
Lord I’ll close my eyes and pray
Just know that I’m doing my very best.
And Lord if I start to stray, give me your love and support
to handle the rest.
Why do we on this Thanksgiving Day,
Forget the one who has paved all of our way?
Why when we remember the birth of our dear Savior,
Why on that day when a New Year starts.
Do we neglect He who has the power to change our
hearts?
And on that day when we speak of Love,
Why do some of us tend to reject the same from Him
above?
Why do we on the day we remember the dead.
Forget Him whose blood for us all he has shed?
Why when we celebrate the birth of our great nation.
Do we not call on Him who brought us all Salvation?
When all the laborers are remembered to be great ones.
Why do we forget about the Father who gave us his Son?
As each year passes and we keep setting all these days
aside.
It seems to me that some of us forget about Jesus who was
crucified.
So on this Thanksgiving Day when we share our thanks
with others.
Remember the Great One watching from above his sisters
and brothers.
Don’t forget to set a place setting for loved ones whom
have passed.
And start living your life like it were you last.
Remember to say your prayers.. .thank the big guy up
above.
Open up your heart and He will fill it up with love.
Thanksgiving is a day to be thankful for and to share with
others a great feast.
The very first thing I am thankful for is for each and every
day the Lord has blessed
Me!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

BECOME A STORM
SPOTTER: NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE
OFFERS TRAINING
OPPORTUNITIES
By Joe Brady, Editor
for
The Times
The weather is unpredictable, the National Weather
Service (NWS) is calling on weather enthusiasts and
community-minded individuals to join their SKYWARN
Storm Spotter Program. The program, designed to
enhance warning services, relies on real-time reports from
Storm Spotters to accurately assess and communicate
severe weather threats such as hail, wind damage, flash
flooding, heavy rain, tornadoes, and waterspouts.
To facilitate this crucial role in public safety, the
NWS is organizing a series of Storm Spotter training
opportunities throughout December and into the new
year. Whether you're a weather aficionado or simply
passionate about serving your community, this is an
opportunity to make a tangible impact during severe
weather events.
Training Options:
1) Local Stonn Spotter Training Classes for Southeast
SC and GA:
• Format: Free and virtual classes
• Notice: Classes may be canceled on short notice
due to severe weather threats.
• Requirements: No prior knowledge of weather
or weather observing necessary.
• Schedule: For details and updates, visit NWS
Charleston Skywarn
2) Online Storm Spotter Course:
• Format: Ideal for those unable to attend in-
person sessions or seeking a refresher.
• Registration: Required on the COMET website.
• Instructions: Follow the guidelines in the Course
Description section to become an official Stonn Spotter
for the NWS in Charleston, SC.
3) Storm Spotter Training Classes Outside the Local
Area:
• Availability: Most National Weather Service
Offices nationwide offer training specific to their local
areas of responsibility.
As technology advances, allowing the NWS to issue
warnings with greater lead time, Storm Spotters remain
integral as the connection between radar indications and
ground truth. Volunteers play a crucial role in supporting
NWS and local emergency management programs.
"Stonn Spotter volunteers have two things in common
- a fascination with the weather and a commitment to
serving their community. By joining the SKYWARN
Storm Spotter Program, individuals become an essential
part of the network that helps keep our communities
safe during severe weather events," says [NWS
Spokesperson].
Take the first step in becoming a Stonn Spotter by
participating in the upcoming training sessions. For
further information and to view the training schedule,
visit NWS Charleston Skywarn. Embrace the opportunity
to contribute to public safety and play a vital role in the
early detection and communication of severe weather
threats.

BURKE COUNTY MAN SENTENCED
TO FEDERAL PRISON FOR CHILD
PORNOGRAPHY POSSESSION
By Joe Brady, Editor
for
The Times
In a case that underscores the importance of combating
online exploitation, a Burke County man has been
sentenced to federal prison for the possession of a vast
collection of child pornography. Jason Bonds Connelly, 61,
of Waynesboro, faced justice after investigators uncovered
tens of thousands of disturbing images on devices linked
to him.
U.S. Attorney Jill E. Steinberg announced that Connelly
has been sentenced to 110 months in federal prison after
pleading guilty to Possession of Child Pornography. U.S.
District Court Chief Judge J. Randal Hall delivered the
sentence, emphasizing the severity of the charges. In
addition to the prison term, Connelly has been ordered
to pay a fine and assessment totaling $2,000. He is also
mandated to register as a sex offender and serve 15 years
of supervised release following the completion of his
prison sentence, as there is no parole in the federal system.
The investigation, led by the Georgia Bureau of
Investigation (GBI) and the Coweta County Sheriff’s
Office, originated from an online probe into the network
sharing of child pornography images in early 2022.
Authorities discovered an account associated with
Connelly containing nearly 60,000 files believed to depict
child sexual abuse.
A search of Connelly's residence revealed alarming
evidence, including images portraying sadistic and
masochistic sexual contact between adults and children.
The GBI identified Connelly's internet address as one of
the top offenders in the state of Georgia for sharing child
sexual abuse material.
The collaborative efforts of the GBI, Coweta County
Sheriff’s Office, Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, and
the Burke County Sheriff’s Office played a crucial role in
bringing Connelly to justice. Assistant U.S. Attorney and
Project Safe Childhood Coordinator Jason W. Blanchard
prosecuted the case.
