Hurry as fast as you can to the library
- because we’re having a nice long
Christmas break this year! The library
will be closed from Thursday, December
21 through Tuesday, December 26, and
will reopen on Wednesday, December 27.
We will also be closed on Monday, January
1 for New Year’s Day.
This of course means that if you’re
addicted to reading like so many of our
patrons, you’ll want to come in and check
out plenty of books and/or movies to keep
yourself and your family members happy
over the long weekend. If, however, you
should happen to run out of reading or
watching materials, you’re in luck! We
have two wonderful apps available for free
with your library card that will help you enjoy yourselves while the library is closed.
First off is Libby, where you can borrow ebooks and audiobooks and download them to
your phone, tablet, or computer without ever leaving your couch.
Second is our newer service, Kanopy! You can watch streaming videos, documentaries,
and TV shows from any location that has internet service, and they’re all amazing. Whether
you would like an Oscar-winning romance or a class on cooking healthy (especially important
with all the goodies you’ll find everywhere this time of year) you can settle in and enjoy
quality entertainment and information. Got kids that are bored? There’s loads of award
winning children’s programs and movies as well, ranging from Sesame Street to read-along
storybooks to lessons in science, math and languages!
Want to know more about what’s happening at the library, and what that inventive elf Daniel
is up to now? Head over to www.facebook.com/jenkinscountymemoriallibrary and find out!
