payment would “bounce” and the dealership would be left without payment.
Nineteen dealerships across the Southeast were identified as victims of

to Minors (Criminal Attempt), Enticing
a Child for Indecent Purposes, Sexual
Exploitation of Children (Possession
of Child Pornography with Intent to
Distribute), as well as charges related to

The charges indicate a comprehensive
legal response aimed at addressing not
only the immediate threat to minors but
also the possession and distribution of
illegal substances. Cortez was charged
with possession of methamphetamine
and possession of drug-related objects,
highlighting the multidimensional nature
of the investigation.
As of now, John E. Cortez is incarcerated
in the Jenkins County jail, awaiting court
action. The arrest and subsequent charges
send a clear message about the severity
with which law enforcement agencies are
approaching crimes against children and
the use of technology in facilitating such
offenses.
The Millen Police Department's
commitment to protecting the community,
particularly its most vulnerable members,
underscores the importance of collaborative
efforts between law enforcement and
technology platforms to combat online
exploitation. As the case unfolds, the
community awaits further developments
in the legal proceedings against Cortez,
highlighting the ongoing efforts to ensure
the safety and well-being of children in the
