When tough decisions had to be made, he
made them with a "what is best for students"
mindset.
When someone serves that long, they
impart a lot of wisdom and, at the same
time, gain a lot of wisdom about how
to best lead the school system. Working
alongside Mr. Roy for the last two years as
superintendent has been a privilege. I have
learned a lot from him. We will miss his
leadership and calm hand on our board, but
if anyone deserves to enjoy his retirement,
it is Mr. Roy. He has served our county and
our system well for many, many years, and I
hope he enjoys this new chapter in his life.”
Mr. C.J. Green will assume Cook's
position on the Board of Education and
is scheduled to be sworn in this coming
January.
The night served as both a celebration
of Cook's legacy and a reflection on the
positive impact his leadership has had on
the Jenkins County schools. The community
applauded his unwavering commitment to
education and his years of service.
Congratulations to Mr. Roy Cook on his
well-deserved retirement!
