Katie Blalock Blitchington, if ev
erybody doesn’t know the name,
they know the face. Katie is a native
of Screven County. “My granddad-
dy. Dr. Lamar Blalock, was the vet
here for years. People still come up
to me and tell me about granddad.”
Katie explains. She is the daughter
of Avery and Aggie Blalock.

Members of the Screven County Chamber of Commerce and other locals joined Lauren
Amason for the grand opening of Evergreen Counseling Services, LLC. Bridget Gordon,
Screven County Chamber President said, “this is something we have needed in our
community for a long time, and we are in great hands with Lauren. Welcome to the county.”
Lauren is a Screven County native and daughter of Hank and Ginny Maierhoffer. She
attended Georgia Southern and has a master’s degree in Counselor Education. Lauren started
her career at Guyton Elementary School as a school counselor and went into private practice
when she and husband, Andrew Amason had their first child. rrvTrD n

Screven County has experienced a mini economic boom in the past month with several
new businesses opening their doors to the residents of the county. These businesses are
as diverse as their owners, from counseling services to a newspaper, to a new medical
practice. There really is not a reason to shop out of town.
Kendall Kent Clark, a native of Screven County, officially opened her new business,
Clark Family Care on Friday, Jan. 28. Kendall is a nurse practitioner. She received her
R.N. degree from Georgia Southern University, and her Master’s in Nursing from Ken-
nesaw State. She is married to Zach Clark, and the daughter of Cindi Pruitt and Brad
Kent.
Clark will be assisted by Certified Medical Assistant Ashley Oglesby, also a native of
Screven County and a graduate of Georgia Southern University. Kelly Bragg, also a na
tive is the Office Manager.

At the January meeting of the Rocky Ford Town Council, Judge Debbie
Brown swore in newly elected and re-elected Mayor and Council mem
bers. Ken Mock was sworn in as the incumbent Mayor and Drew Dudley,
Inez Lane, and Ralph Mock were sworn in as newly elected council
members. The group will serve a 4 year term. They join Council mem
bers Bennie Daughtry and Althea Durden on the town council. Pictured

FOREHAND and HODGES
take oath of office

At the January meeting of the Hiltonia Town Council Judge Debbie
Brown swore in reelected councilmembers Jeremy Forehand and Ben
Hodges. Ashlyn Morris will be sworn in at a later date. Forehand and
Hodges will serve a four year term. They join Mayor Bobby Mobley and
council members Matthew Forehand, Shirley Walker, and Mary Wil
