Search continues for Cannon

The search continues for Justin Allen Cannon. Cannon
fled from Screven County Sheriff deputies last Wednes
day afternoon from the Cooperville area. He has been
described as a white male in his late twenties, approxi
mately 150 pounds and 6’3”. The subject fled on foot.
Cannon has multiple local Felony warrants and is cur
rently facing multiple charges including obstruction of
a law enforcement officer, possession of methamphet-
amine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon,
possession of a firearm during the commission of or
attempt to commit a felony, possession of drug related
objects, driving while license is suspended or revoked,
and fleeing or attempting to elude. If anyone has infor
mation on the whereabouts of Justin Allen Cannon, they
are urged to contact the Screven County Sheriff’s Office
at 912-564-2013. Callers may remain anonymous.

The Screven County Sheriff’s Office has requested the help of residents to identify this
female suspect. She is wanted for shoplifting from the Fuel America in Cooperville on Feb.
4, 2022. If you have any information on the identity of this suspect you are urged to contact
the Sheriff’s office at 912-564-2013. All callers may remain anonymous.
Three arrested in multiple thefts
Brian Wesley Dean has been charged with theft by receiving stolen
property (felony); possession of drug related objects; and obstruc
tion of a law enforcement officer.

Robert Shane Anderson has been charged with theft by receiv
ing stolen property(felony); Obstruction of a law enforcement
officer; possession of drug related objects; giving false informa
tion to law enforcement; fleeing or attempting to elude a police
officer; driving while license is suspended or revoked.
Destiny Marie Ostrander has been charged with theft by receiv
ing stolen property (felony); possession of drug related ob
jects; obstruction of a law enforcement officer; possession of a
methamphetamine(felony); aiding or permitting another to escape
lawful custody or confinement(felony); possession of a schedule
IV controlled substance(felony); drugs to be kept in original con
tainer receipt; possession or transfer of firearm by convicted felon
or felony first offender(felony); possession of firearm or knife dur
ing the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies.
Three are in custody and one still on the run-in connection with several thefts of 4 wheelers and atv’s in Screven and surrounding counties. Last Wednesday, while Screven County
Sheriff’s Deputies were investigating thefts on Effingham Highway, two subjects, identified as Justin Cannon and Robert Shane Anderson were spotted on 4wheelers believed to be
stolen.
Deputies were engaged in a car chase with the individuals on Effingham Highway and Cameron Road. Law enforcement also arrested Whitney Humphries Spiers, also involved in
the thefts, and wanted on felony warrants in Putnam County.
Meanwhile, deputies stopped a Chevrolet pickup on Qual Ridge Road in connection with the investigation. Cannon fled on foot, but Robert Shane Anderson, Destiny Marie Os
trander, and Brian Wesley Dean were arrested. “I want to thank the Georgia State Patrol, GA DNR, Sylvania Police Department, Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bulloch
County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this investigation. Cannon is still on the run, but we’ll find him.” Sheriff Kile said.

Triplett named new 4H agent

Morgan Triplett joined the Screven County
Extension office as the 4-H Agent in January.
Before accepting the position in Screven Coun
ty, Morgan worked in Effingham County with
the 4-H program for 3 Vi years. “I am eager to
work alongside Screven County’s Administra
tors, Board of Education, Commissioners, and
the community to bring youth development pro
gramming to students,” Morgan explains.
Morgan will be instructing educational pro
grams in the classrooms beginning in the 5th
grade, preparing students for district and state
level 4-H competitions, leading hands-on ser
vice projects in the community, providing ex
citing camping opportunities to students, and
more! Morgan is passionate about 4-H and
“cannot wait to share my passion with students
and provide them with unique opportunities in
leadership, civic engagement, STEM, agricul
ture and all that 4-H has to offer!”

vania live in Springfield with their newborn son.

Child and Family Development.
