Chapter of Waynesboro,
Georgia, presented two
scholarships. To be eligible
for one of the scholarships,
you must be a descendant
of a member of Colonial
Dames, meaning you can
trace your ancestry back to
at least 1699.
The scholarships this year
were presented to Emmett
Peter Adams III and Erin
Elizabeth Caldwell.
Peter is the grandson
of Nell Bailey Headley,
Scholarship Chairman of
the Chapter. He is the son of
Heather and Pete Adams of
North Augusta, S.C. Peter
graduated last year from Fox
Creek High School in North
Augusta, S.C., and is cur
rently attending Limestone
University in Gaffney, S.C.,
a sports emphasis university.
He had an invitation to play
softball there and is current
ly playing shortstop with the
#1 team. Peter is studying
sports management as his
career choice but intends to

play professional baseball.
Erin is the granddaughter
of Marilyn Cochran, Trea
surer of the Chapter. She is
the daughter of Christine
Cochran and Troy Mason
Caldwell of Savannah, Ga.
Erin graduated from Islands
High School in Savan
nah, Ga., and is currently
attending Georgia Southern
University @ Savannah
Campus in Savannah, Ga.
Her career choice is Politi
cal Science.
State FFA
Convention
To Be Held
In IV1 aeon
The State of Georgia, 94th annual FFA
(Future Farmers Of America) Conven
tion will be held April 27-April 30, 2022
in Macon, Georgia. This years theme is
"SURGE, Passion into power".
There will be four jam-packed days of
various activities for members to cele
brate their local FFA successes throughout
the year and explore new opportunities
in FFA. There will be instmction on various subjects, such as, marketing planning, public
speaking, creed speaking, leadership workshops, AG workshops and more. We have listed
all the events and classes available at the convention, below. The price for each Screven
County FFA student that plans to attend is $130.00 which covers the registration, transpor
tation, hotel, convention t-shirt and fun night. If your student plans to go, a $75.00 deposit
for all FFA students planning to go is required and due by March 25, 2022. This deposit
will hold the students spot for the trip. The remainder of $55.00 is due by April 22, 2022.
Screven County FFA leaders look forward to a wonderful time for all students at this years
event.
