Cam Logan, the director of the as yet untitled short documentary is mystified by the legend of the Dell Goodall House. Film maker Cam Logan, of “Logan Social Film”, a huge history buff, was driving through Sylvania when he spotted the sign and decided to go have a look. Cam is no stranger to our area; he also filmed a You-tube video on the Battle of Brier Creek. The film is re-creating the whole story of Dow and Goodall and includes the church scene where the town peoples begin to cause trouble in effect stopping the preaching of Dow. According to local legend, the house was then in the town of Jacksonboro, which at that time was the most western ©©'MSTlFS' said that there were as many saloons as all the other office combined. Two students were named as National Finalists in their FFA Proficiency Award categories. In the area of Diversified Livestock Production, Stormie Rackley was named a Finalist in the FFANational Proficiency Award Program for her livestock enterprise. Rackley has raised and sold goats, sheep, pigs, and cattle. Prior to being named as National Finalists, Dehoff and Rackley were named the State Winners in their respective areas at the State FFA Convention held in April 2022. From there, their proficiency applications were sent on to Indianapolis for national judging. Participants in the National Agricultural Proficiency Awards program receive a rating of National Finalist, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Participant or Disqualified. Screven County currently has 12 voting precincts. “Having one central voting location in each district greatly reduces the confusion for voters who don’t know where to go as well as saves the county money, time and labor,” Hannah Derriso, Screven County Elections Supervisor explained at the regular county commission meeting held last week. Current Screven County precincts include: 1. Sylvania Courthouse, District 7 2. 1361 assigned voters Hunter’s Community House, District 3 3- 540 assigned voters Newington, Planter’s Annex District 4 4- 1211 assigned voters Jenk Hill District 5 5- 1264 assigned voters Rocky Ford Town Hall District 6 6. 553 assigned voters Bay Branch (Millerville)Fire Station District 6 996 assigned voters See ELECTION page 6 SCREVEN COUNTY PRECINCT CONSOLIDATION PJtDFDSEb vutiHA LUiriAHl This graph shows the proposed precincts.
