In addition to keeping their unbeaten overall record intact and starting 1-0 in region play, the Roosters also secured their 16 th consecutive Homecoming victory dating back to a 25-20 win over T. W. Josey in 2006. SCHS will make a trip to Savannah High this week to face the Blue Jackets in their second region contest. Friday the Red and White led 13-0 before the Redskins had a first down in a game that saw SCHS put together its best 24 minutes of football all season in the first half. It came at the right time against the right opponent. Though they fell flat and consistently stopped themselves in the second half, by that time the outcome was not in doubt. It was a game that saw the Dirty Bird defense, the second best scoring defense in all of Class A D-l, make three fourth down stops and hold the visitors under 100 total yards until their final possession; a possession that ended at the SCHS one yard line as time ran out. The SCHS offense took their first possession and drove 66 yards in seven plays and then their second possession and went 32 yards in just six plays putting the score at 13-0 with 2:46 remaining in the opening stanza. While that was going on BCHS ran three plays totaling two yards and launched a punt that TaCorey Grant returned 21 yards to the ‘Skins 32. The clutch play of the first scoring down was the fourth and six that resulted in a 31 yard scoring toss from Jake Pollock (4-7 for 82 yards) to Grant. Six consecutive running plays netted the second score with fullback Miyon Fulcher (13-67) bulling in from the one. Jeremiah Stuart was true on the first PAT. Also with big runs on the first two possessions were Andre Michaud (9-78) and Pollock (7- 37). Bryan showed life down 13-0 as they began a 14 play drive that started on their own 41. The drive took nearly eight minutes off the first half clock but resulted in no points as they turned the ball over on downs at the Dirty Birds’ 17 yard line. Jamari Dockery, with help from Vasquez Lonon and Grant, stopped Bryan’s Jacari Carney for no gain on a fourth and five. The time consuming drive was directly from the BCHS game plan, but down 13-0 and producing no points, the game plan proved ineffective. Following the stop the Roosters promptly drove the 83 yards in a mere eight plays. The drive culminated with a 25 yard completion from Pollock to Dylaun Adams (3-51) in the comer of the home side end zone. Other big plays in the barely three minute drive were a 22 yard catch and ran by Adams and a 20 yard run by Michaud. The try for two failed. Few would have guessed it but the scoring for the night was done. In the frustrating second half the Gamecocks reached the Bryan 33, 16, and 37 but were stopped by penalties and balls put on the ground. They were put there by various methods none of which resulted in lost fumbles. When all was done the defense had its third shut of the season led by Adam Lingerfelt’s 14 tackles (3-11). Other leading tacklers were Vasquez Lonon (2-7), Justin Smith (1-8), Fulcher (2-4), Grant (2-2), LJ Brown (1-3), and Jemiah Stewart (0-4). The tackles included six for losses. Office walls have been put up, no sheetrock yet, but you can at least see where things are headed. One of the windows has been opened up and it’s amazing how much light comes in. Ms. Cecilia Lee has graciously accepted the challenge of touching up the murals where they could not be saved. Hats off to Orr’s Construction for working so hard on our new home! (photo by Sarah Saxon) the most dependable mediator. Only once in the 9 years I have been the director, have I had to get someone to cover for Bob.” Bulloch County Magistrate Judge June Braswell said, “Bob is our go to guy, if a case can’t be resolved, he is the only one who can make it happen.” Judge Jimmy Griner, who is credited for giving Bob his start, also said, “I did a program for the Sylvania Rotary club about the ADR and Bob said he would like to do that, and the rest is history.” Bob thanked for coming, “I knew God sent me for this purpose and I have worked to do the best job I can.” Bob Good honored at retirement party Mediator for Ogeechee Judicial First Christian Little Dipper LH Hilton House Lila Jane’s Craft Supplies A.
