Library to observe holiday, grab a
great read before
By Sharon Blank,

The Times
The library will be closed from Friday,
December 22 through Tuesday,
December 26 to allow our staff to
enjoy the holiday with their families.
We will reopen on Wednesday,
December 27 at our usual hours.
We do have a quick reminder for any
of you who can’t make it to the library
to stock up on reading material and
movies, though - you’re not out of
luck for free entertainment courtesy of
your library! Libby has lots of ebooks
and audiobooks (great for listening to
if you’ll be taking a long holiday drive) and you can download it onto a phone, tablet, or computer
with nothing but the Libby app and your library card!
If you’re more in the mood for movies, download the Kanopy app, and you can watch movies,
documentaries and more with your library card and an internet connection. It even works on smart
TVs!
We will be closed on Monday, January 1 for New Year’s Day.
Want to know what else is going on at the library? Head over to www.facebook.com/
screvencountylibrary and “Like” us to get the latest news about the library, early looks at the latest
additions to our collection, and more!
New at the library
ALEX CROSS MUST DIE by James Patterson. It all started for Alex Cross when he got a call from
DC Metro Police, calling him out to Reagan International Airport and letting him know that a plane
had just exploded on the runway. But this explosion wasn’t some kind of mechanical fault - it was
because the plane had been shot down by a stolen Vietnam War era machine gun. There’s not a lot
of people who can fire such a weapon, but they are racing against time to find the shooter and bring
them to justice before another plane goes down in flames... or before the killer finds his new target,
Detective Alex Cross.
Well, that’s all for now - see you at the library, and have a very merry Christmas!
