Burke County Sheriff
asks for neighboring
communities’
The Burke County Sheriff’s Office and the Waynesboro Police
Department are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a truck
involved in a hit and run Friday afternoon around 6:30 p.m. at the
intersection of Sixth Street and Liberty Street, at the old courthouse.
Citizens and business owners have contributed to a cash award in the
amount of $2500 for the identification and arrest of the perpetrator. The
vehicle has been identified as a 2008-2013 Chevrolet truck, black, 4 door
with a black camper shell. “The truck may have some damage to the
front-end and passenger side,” explained Sheriff Alphonso Williams. The
victims, an adult male and three young children were crossing the street
when they were struck, said Sheriff Williams.
“We are urging anyone with information about the black Chevrolet
truck or the driver to come forward and contact the Burke County
Sheriff’s Office at 706-554-2133 or any law enforcement agency in the
jurisdiction of the truck or the driver. GSP is handling the investigation
and Deputies with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office are out assisting
by canvassing businesses and other areas looking for any available
surveillance video,” Williams explained.

The Farm Wife
Those of you who have been
following me for a while know
that I have had two adventures
with my horse Venus that resulted
in several broken ribs. It was not
like in the movies where the hero
wraps some strips tom off his
shirt around his chest and goes
right on hero-ing. Broken ribs
are painful!
