Editor In a recent session held on Wednesday, March 13, at 11 a.m., the Planning and Design Commission convened for their monthly meeting to review and deliberate on several key development proposals. The focal point of the meeting was the review of the preliminary plat for parcel 081-038, earmarked for development by K. Crews Properties, LLC, situated on Friendship Road and zoned D-l. The proposed plat entails a resurvey that will divide two lots into four, covering a total area of 10.66 acres. Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, the Commission confirmed that the lots will have access to essential amenities such as city water, power, and sewer. Notably, discussions revolved around the need for easements to facilitate access to the sewer main, particularly between lots 5 and 6. Following deliberations, a motion to approve the plat was set forth by Mr. Austin, accompanied by recommendations aimed at addressing easement concerns. The motion garnered unanimous support from the Commission, signaling the green light for the development project. Additionally, the Commission reviewed permit applications and plans for two residential structures, engaging in dialogue regarding the optimal placement of garage entrances. With considerations for practicality and aesthetic appeal, motions were rqade to approve both applications, albeit with recommendations to relocate the garage entrances to the sides of the residences. These motions, spearheaded by Mr. Austin and Mr. Withrow, respectively, received unanimous backing from the Commission members.
