Reporter In a significant crackdown on contraband trafficking, the Screven County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of four individuals implicated in a smuggling ring involving drugs, tobacco, and communication devices. The investigation, which commenced in February of this year, culminated in a series of arrests targeting individuals allegedly involved in supplying contraband to inmates within the Correctional Institute. The arrested individuals include Brianna Chambers, Troy McBride, Sebastin Lloyd, and Malik Scott. They face charges related to the procurement and distribution of drugs, telecommunication devices, and tobacco for inmates. Scott faces additional charges for driving with a suspended license. The investigation, spearheaded by law enforcement officials, uncovered a network of individuals attempting to smuggle prohibited items into the Correctional Institute. The probe was initiated following suspicions of smuggling activities originating from Alma (Bacon County), with individuals allegedly attempting to deliver contraband to their incarcerated spouses. Editor In a recent development, authorities have taken action against the Lucky Lotto convenience store for allegedly selling vaping products to underage individuals. Detective Norman Royal initiated the investigation several weeks ago following reports of minors purchasing vapes from the establishment.
