Sandy Springs Charter Middle
School student Joshua Perling,
a second-degree black belt,
celebrated his Bar Mitzvah by
hosting an anti-bullying prevention
seminar at the school on Oct.
23. Above, over 800 students
took the anti-bullying pledge.

performed a martial arts demonstration and various skits showing
bully-prevention techniques and the psychology of bullying behavior.

It’s a first!
The North Atlanta High School’s girls’ cross country team finished
third and the boys’ fourth at the AAAAA Region 6 meet on Oct.
26 at Druid Hills Middle School. This is the first time in school
history that both teams advanced to state in the same year.
