riod, dated through March 8.

around 7:30 p.m. he was walking on the side
walk when a dark grey car, a Ford Crown Vic

tim’s apartment through a front door. A sec
ond burglary was reported in this area on the
same day.

March 5, two chainsaws were stolen from the
community building at Hammond Park.
■ Spring Creek Lane - A woman said she
thought she lost her wedding ring, but found
that it was pawned and has located the cur
rent owner. She believes that her ex-husband
took the ring after a visit to her apartment to
see the kids. The ex then pawned it. The ex
is currently serving time for burglary at Jack-
son State Prison.
■ 1000 block of Hightower Trail 30350 - On
March 6, responding to an alarm, an officer
found a door that had been forced at the point
where the deadbolt was installed. A search of
the home showed that nothing had been taken.
Alarms are good. Set them, even if you’re
going down the street for a few minutes.

window and entered the victim’s home. Sev
eral items including jewelry were taken.

them, then discard
ed them in the bath
room trash can. The woman, when spoken
to by the officer, sporadically cried and then
suddenly stopped. She was somewhat inco

was cited for the $12 theft.
■ 8700 block of Roswell Road 30350 - On

■ 8300 block of Roswell Road 30350 - On
March 5, a man said he had an ad on Craig-
slist to sell an iPhone for $450. The man was
contacted by a woman to meet in a park
ing lot in the 8300 block of Roswell Road.
The woman was in her car and said she had
to remain in the car due to her son. She
asked to see the phone to test texting on it.
She took the phone and off she went. She
drove away and has not been seen since.
NOTE: iPhones are very popular. iPhone
thefts are also very popular. Plan ahead.
Here’s your checklist when selling an iPhone:
1. Do not meet someone at night in a park
ing lot. 2. Always meet in a public place like
a coffee shop or gun store. 3. Don’t give the
phone over to someone else while they are in
a car. Even on foot, when you let them see
it, and they’ll want to see it—who wouldn’t?
— you run the risk of them taking off. 4. Ac
tivate the “Find My iPhone” app. 5. Once
agreed, ask for the money up front. Tell the
buyer: “Nothing personal, but due to the
large number of thefts of iPhones during per-
son-to-person exchanges, I would like to ask
for the money first.”
■ Someone took a chainsaw from the ad
ministration building at the Morgan Falls
athletic fields.
■ 5500 block of Glenridge Drive 30342 - On
March 6, someone took at least seven checks
from the drop box of an apartment resident
leasing office. He or she apparently used a
substance making the checks adhere to what
ever he or she used to pull them from the slot.
