She then appointed Lisa Bartlett, owner of Gramma B’s home and garden store, to replace Porter on the Design Re view Board. City Council unanimously ap proved both appointments. Police work as waiters for Georgia Special Olympics For the third year, Sandy Springs police will again be serving food and drinks to raise money for Georgia Spe cial Olympics. Officers will staff the Flying Biscuit Restaurant, 5975 Roswell Road, on April 19 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Their tips will go to Georgia Special Olym pics. Last year, the event raised over $7,000, police said. Rep. Phil Gingrey running for Senate seat U.S. Rep. Phil Gingrey, R-Mar- ietta, on March 27 announced he planned to run for Sen. Saxby Chambliss’ seat. Chambliss is re tiring. Shortly af ter Gingrey’s an nouncement, State Rep. Ed Lindsey, R-Atlanta, said he would con sider running for the Congressional seat Gingrey is vacating. Lindsey said in a March 27 email to constituents that he would talk with his family after the Leg islature recessed for the year to decide whether or not he should run.
