Galambos’ retirement opens field

The announcement that long
time Mayor Eva Galambos plans
to retire at the end of her term
has opened the field for new can
didates for mayor. But, so far, no
new faces have emerged.
Former Sandy Springs City
Councilman and state legisla
tor Rusty Paul was the first to an
nounce his candidacy.

runs into

1-285 is running into the city
of Sandy Springs’ plan to build
a downtown.
Both are long-term projects,
but the city’s plans are moving
more quickly. ARCADIS, the
consultant hired by the state
Department of Transporta
tion and the Georgia Region
al Transportation Authority,
recently asked the city to sign
