More arrests in tragic
Mobley murder/robbery

Early Wednesday afternoon
June 26, 2013, four young black
males entered Mobley Company
Jewelers, Inc. on Highway 61,
Villa Rica. The robbers began to
break the display cases glass in
and apparent “smash and grab.”
Owner Mitch Mobley confronted
the suspects and was shot and
killed.

reports, presented by Chief
Financial Manager Jackie Reed,
show that the CCWA continues to
be fiscally sound.

Bono Project is hosting an “Ask a
Lawyer Day” event Friday,
August 2, 2013 from 10:00 a.m.
to 12:30 p.m. at the Warren
Sewell Library in Bremen. The
intent of “Ask a Lawyer Day” is
to offer Carroll and surrounding
county residents free and brief
advice on a variety of civil type
legal issues. Such issues that can
be addressed include: family, pro
bate, bankruptcy, adoptions, land
lord tenant and much more.
Each resident who attends the
event will get the chance to talk
to multiple lawyers in private for
upwards of 20 minutes or longer.

claims that a Carrollton ordinance
Mayor Wayne Gamer says was
passed at the request of the
Greenbelt Commission which
precludes anybody from carrying
“non-permitted” firearm on the
Greenbelt Trail is preempted by
Georgia law.

Anyone who has driven around Carroll
County has most likely noticed the abun
dance of inmates working throughout the
community. There are crews assigned to
roadwork, those who do maintenance and
lawn care, and others on detail for trash
pickup.
When Sheriff Terry Langley was first run
ning for office, he campaigned heavily to
work the inmates. Since his election, nearly
