Fire destroyed several businesses on the top floor, the entire roof and parts of the floor. Water used to put out the fire cascaded through the holes in the floor destroy ing the La Trattoria restaurant and its contents located beneath. Carrollton City fire fighters were able to contain the large fire and extinguish it rather quickly before it spread to any other building on the square. No one was injured. Built in 1921, it was converted in 1986 into a community center which later, in 2009, was named for past Carrollton mayor Tracy Stallings.
