Princeton study finds DRE voting
machines open to easy vote stealing
Used statewide in Georgia, DREs are vulnerable to malicious
software that “can steal votes with little or if any risk of detection”
by Carole Scott
Voter fraud is not new, and no method of counting votes is
immune to it. In 1948, Lyndon Johnson became Texas Democrats’
candidate for the U.S. Senate in an election he won because a bal
lot box was stuffed with 203 fraudulent paper ballots. These
fraudulent ballots gave him an 87 vote margin over his opponent
out of a total vote of nearly one million. He went on to win the gen
eral election and take a seat in the U.S. Senate.
The notorious dictator Joseph Stalin is attributed to saying, “It is
enough that the people know there was an election. The people
who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes
decide everything.” And one may wonder what Franklin D.
Roosevelt meant when he famously remarked, “Presidents are
selected, not elected.” See PRINCETON STUDY page 3

Election is underway in Carroll County, with the
District 4 seat up for grabs. The runoff race is the
result of the May 20th Primary Election, which
yielded some clear winners locally and statewide, but
only narrowed down the three-way race for District 4
to two candidates, incumbent John Wilson and
Michelle Morgan.

Of the 1,957 votes cast in the primary race for
District 4, Wilson received 731, while challenger
Michelle Morgan received 861. The third candidate,
Wally Dedman, garnered 365 votes.
All three candidates ran as Republicans, and there
is no Democratic challenger, so the winner of the
runoff election will win the District 4 seat.
