City schools ask voters
to approve $25M bond
To be paid with SPLOST monies if SPLOST passes
in November; if not, property taxes to increase

On Tuesday, March 17, 2015 the city of
Carrollton will hold an election for voters to
vote on a referendum to issue a general obli
gation bond to the Carrollton City Schools in
the amount of $25 million. If issued, the bond
will be used to help build a new high school
for the city school system.
In November, a SPLOST vote choice will
be on the ballot. If SPLOST passes in
November, that money will be used to pay
for the $25 million in bonds.
If the November SPLOST does not pass,
Jay Goodman, director of strategic communi
cation for Carrollton City Schools, said prop
erty taxes will increase in the city.
