The mayor and city council met on Monday, June 1,
2015.
The proposed city budget for FY 2015-2016 was pre
sented at the meeting. The proposed General Fund
Operating Budget is $20,945,279, which is a 4% increase
from last year’s. The proposed Water Fund Operating
Budget is $15,162,481, which is a 4% increase from last
year’s. The proposed Sanitation Fund Operating Budget is
$4,626,517, which is a 3% increase from last year’s.

Carrollton’s 22-Year history
of no millage increase

Millage rate is the amount per $1,000
that is used to calculate taxes on property.
The millage rate is multiplied by the total
taxable value of a property to calculate
the amount of property taxes due. For the
last 22 years, the City of Carrollton has
not needed to increase the millage rate on
property taxes. Wayne Gamer has been
mayor since January 2004, and Casey
Coleman has been city manager since
May 2003.
