The 12th annual Carroll
County Empty Bowls is Sunday,
Feb. 28th 11am - 2pm, Carroll
County Ag Center. All proceeds
benefit the Carroll County Soup
Kitchen.
Ceramic artists and amateurs
create and donate bowls, local
chefs donate soup, and for $15
($10 with advance tickets and for
children 12 and under), patrons
choose a bowl to take home and
enjoy a light lunch there with
friends. We also have a Silent
Auction, kids’ activities, and
more.
Live music this year will be by
Americana Express, Martini
Caliente, and Barefoot Nina.

Council held their first meet
ing of 2016 on January 4,
2016 at the Temple City Hall.
The meeting began with Judge
Betty Cason swearing in three
members of the Council.
Richard Bracknell and

re-elected to new terms while

election to include two local races
Voters will be asked to select either a
Republican ballot or a Democratic ballot

A special election will take place
on March 1st, 2016 in conjunction
with the Georgia Presidential
Primary “Super Tuesday” to fill the
Ward 2 seat in the city of Carrollton
and two vacant seats on the
Roopville city council.
These seats are non-partisan. But
since it is a presidential primary,
each voter will be asked to select
either a Republican ballot or a

Democratic ballot prior to voting. In
those precincts concerning the
Carrollton and Roopville races, the
local race candidate choices will be
on both the Republican and the
Democratic ballots.
Candidates who have qualified
for the Carrollton Ward 2 seat are:
Adam Wilkins, vice president of
OmniCall; Brent Harris, physician.

The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce conducted orientation for new officers and
members of the board of directors. New directors will serve three-year terms and assist in the
implementation of the chamber’s programs in business development, government affairs,
